Our Swedish campus SWE01 is part of Stockholm’s Open District Heating Program, which works to repurpose surplus heat that would normally be wasted and instead uses it to warm homes and businesses When at full capacity the residual heat generated by our #SWE01 data center will be recycled via our partner energy company Stockholm Exergi, where the excess heat will warm homes within the local community. A huge two-thirds of the energy produced in the Nordics comes from renewable sources! Embracing these renewable energy sources means companies are significantly reducing their carbon footprints, and by using energy-efficient technologies, such as liquid cooling and optimised server infrastructure, further enhances sustainability. Direct Liquid Cooling (aka DLC) cools the IT load more efficiently giving higher rack density, greater control over the heat reuse process, reduced power usage and advanced performance. With DLC we can support greater computing densities while reducing our overall data center footprint. Learn more about DLC technology in our guest blog by Luc Wagemakers, EMEA Area Manager for CoolIT Systems: https://lnkd.in/evwtMuFw #CarbonNeutrality #atNorth #MoreCompute #NordicDataCenters #WhyTheNordics

The Nordics are closer than you think! Iceland has multiple undersea high-speed fiber optic cables connecting the country to the UK, and mainland Scandinavia which connects with North America and beyond! This infrastructure provides a reliable and efficient energy supply, allowing communication and connectivity with our global partners. Our newest campus, ICE03, is in the North of Iceland in Akureyri. ICE03 is ultra-scalable and was specifically designed to cater to high-density workloads. Iceland has invested heavily in redundant connectivity to ensure the reliability of its telecommunications infrastructure, and to attract tech investment in the region. Did you know that at the start of the year colleagues across atNorth were asked to nominate charities close to their hearts that they would like to support. In response, we chose one charity in the local communities where we have a presence, providing aid to assist projects supporting youth, humanitarian and health activities. Contributing to the local community is important to us and emphasis is placed on selecting projects that focus on innovation in the energy and technology sector, prevention activities, supporting marginal groups and the protection of the environment Visit our website to find out more about our values: https://lnkd.in/eKKS8dYU #Community #NordicDataCenters #Support #atNorth #Charity
