Writing introductions is hard. Many writers feel the same way, including me. There have been times when the mere thought of writing a powerful introduction left me staring at a blank page for hours. Earlier (a year or two ago), I used to write posts with lengthy story-based introductions. When I read those posts today, it feels like my thoughts were all over the place. If I were a reader who was looking for direct information, I would have bounced off - without any second thoughts. Over the last few months, while I have improved my craft, it still felt like my introductions were not concise and relevant to my readers. But after collaborating/interacting with some amazing folks like Tommy Walker, the Semrush team (Carlos Silva, Ana Camarena, Christine Skopec, Alex Lindley, Michael Ofei), Dana Nicole 🤓 the way I write introductions has changed completely. Here are my key takeaways: ➡️ Avoid mentioning what your target audience already knows. ➡️ Be clear and concise. Choose your wording wisely. ➡️ You don't always need a story. Your audience is looking for direct information. ➡️ You don't always need an introduction. This one literally blew my mind. ➡️ Focus on the end-benefit for the users. For example, if your product can solve a specific problem, don't mention that problem, instead say how solving this problem can help a reader. ➡️ Try to implement the Bottom-Line-Up-Front (BLUF) approach. ➡️ Share your experience. Would love your thoughts.

After 75 published articles under my name, you can also start a career in content writing without any prior experience! So when I started writing, I had no clue of my capabilities. My friends used to tell me that I would become an excellent speaker, so I knew I was good at telling stories. This comprehensive guide will teach you how to do it, too. Find this valuable? Follow Maryam Khalid for more! Chao! 🌿 P.S. Did you spot the quote on the last slide? Where is it from?

After writing 250+ blogs for 70+ clients, I know what I need for a quality blog that people actually read… I only need to answer these three BASIC questions; 1. What is it (the topic) about? - 1 bigger idea. - 1 core problem. - 1 core solution. 2. Who is it for? - 1 set of a specific audience 3. What promise (the blog post) is making? - 1 specific takeaway. - How confidently I (the writer) can deliver on that promise. Basic? Yeah. But… Blog posts answering these 3 Ques get the results. Every experienced blog writer knows this and implements it. PS. Do you read blog posts? === You’ve tried GPTs; now try SAIQO. #Mrsaiqo

3 habits every content writer must do to avoid feeling overwhelmed 1. Go For Walks 2. Content Batch 3. Write & Research I used to feel stressed all the time trying to write content and post it the same day I’d struggle to come up with ideas When I started researching and content batching, writing became easier I’d have ideas for days If you're stuck with your writing → Research If you feel overwhelmed with content → Go for a walk If you want to stress less about content → Content Batch ps. what are some ways you've overcome feeling overwhelmed with content?

What makes a good content writer? This post will be dedicated to both my insights as well as expectant insights from my dear connections! First of all, let me introduce myself a little. I am Rwitarupa Banerjee. I've been writing for sites, middlemen, companies and everything under the sun for 4 years 6 months and some days now. Yet, I wouldn't call myself as being very advanced in my career. Half of this time was spent after my academics and the rest for preparation for WBCS. Yes, like many other Indians , I had my heart set for the state civil services. And also like many other aspirants, my aspiration got cut short by the tremendous skill set that is needed to pass the Mains. As I was wallowing in my misery, my mother pointed out something important to me "Beta, you're kind of lazy, isn't it a good thing that you're not becoming a civil servant? Why don't you pursue content writing full-time instead? I know you love that!" Though this was merely an excuse, a consolatory salve to ease my stress, I realised she was absolutely right. This work that I did merely to fund my daily expenses and contributions to my household was in reality an invaluable skill. Besides, I loved doing that. All my boredom and inactivity completely washes away at the prospect of research and writing. I love content writing because it gives my so much insight into so many random topics. It's a perfect job for the eternally curious like me, who always need to know what's going on or what's trending! So there goes the first characteristic of a good content writer. They must love their job. Words do not exactly flow the way we want to if we try to force it for money only. I initially had some other points to add but like my awesome mother had said, I'm kind of lazy. So I'll leave it to you guys! So what do you think makes a demandable content writer? #contentwriting #contentwriters #ramblings_of_a_lazy_writer

The Day in the Life of a Content Writer... Picture this: a content writer, armed with nothing but a laptop, a strong cup of coffee, and an endless supply of witty one-liners. They wake up, stretch, and think, “What masterpiece will I bestow upon the world today?” But before their creative juices even get flowing, they’re bombarded with a flood of requests: The Blog Post Frenzy: “Can you write a 2,000-word blog on the benefits of organic alpaca wool socks by noon?” Of course! Let me just consult my extensive sock research. The Social Media Storm: “We need 50 tweets, 30 Instagram captions, and a TikTok script about our new brand of artisanal gluten-free ice cubes.” No problem! My brain is a social media factory. The SEO Tsunami: “Optimize this article on underwater basket weaving with 17 keywords, including ‘best waterproof reed’ and ‘aquatic artistry for beginners.’” Easy peasy! Who needs logic when you have keywords? The Content Writer’s Toolkit In the chaotic world of content creation, every writer has a survival kit: Thesaurus on Speed Dial: How many ways can you say “innovative,” “delicious,” or “groundbreaking”? Cat or Dog for Emotional Support: A furry friend who looks at you with confusion while you explain the nuances of click-through rates. Playlist of White Noise: To drown out the sound of their sanity slipping away. Imbox says your email is now 90% newsletters you didn’t subscribe to, 5% urgent work emails, and 5% spam offering you a million dollars from a prince in a faraway land ( well that's a dream till now). Infinite Scroll Syndrome: You’ve been scrolling through your newsfeed for hours, and you still haven’t hit the bottom. Spoiler: there is no bottom. Content Black Hole: You start reading a blog about productivity hacks, and three hours later, you’re deep into the comments section of a video about the history of potato chips. How did you get here? Nobody knows. #contentwriting #writing #blogger #articlewriter #fiction #nonfiction #motivation #goals #nevergiveup

All You need in Freelance world is "Patience" The single Mantra that decides your freelance luck is "Patience". If somebody say "I learned any digital skill overnight" is bluffing. If a friend tells you "Freelance is an easy side-hustle", Do Not trust him/her. Freelancers' journey have never been easy. Sometimes we would work for straight 24 hours and the client would come up with some absurd ideas and ask for unnecessary revisions. Hectic deadlines keep our weekends dry and boring. Watching movies and going out with friends never happen once you get on screens. My three years' journey as a freelance writer was a humpty rollercoaster. I started off doing my friends' assignments and eventually found myself in freelance world in 2022. Since 2022, Everyday I felt giving up, everynight taught me Patience. I have been reading this book by Elif Shafak, "Forty Rules of love" and I found the reason why I never quit freelancing and how I became a known writer in freelance world. Elif Shafak writes: "Patience does not mean to passively endure. It means to be farsighted enough to trust the end result of a process. What does patience means? It means to look at the thorn and see the rose, to look at the night and see the dawn. Impatience means to be so shortsighted as to not be able to see the outcome. The lovers of God never run out of patience, for they know that time is needed for the crescent moon to become Full" It takes years to find good leads and convert these leads into loyal clients. be patient and never try to jump on things. #freelancingneedspatience #patience #fortyrulesoflove #selfmotivation

If I had to start my content writing journey from Day 1. (all over again) 👉 Here's what I would have done. 1. Choose a blogging niche. 2. Write 5 blog posts on that niche. 3. Publish them on Medium & use them as a portfolio. 4. Open a LinkedIn profile & optimize my profile. (with keywords) 5. Connect with people who're hiring in my niche. (without being salesy) 6. Apply for LinkedIn part-time remote jobs. (As a student, I can't take full-time jobs.) The process can be different for some people. But the motto will be the same. ''To get client's attention and get hired to do the work''. So start your journey today. What's your process of getting started as a content writer? ✍ #freelancing #freelancer #writer #copywriting #marketing -- PS: Do you also think the tea that Mom makes is the best tea in the world ever? 🙃

Content writing success tip #12 - Communicate "effectively" Most of you would have seen "Excellent verbal and written communication mandatory" in 99% of JDs. Why do every organization emphasizes on communication? or What do they expect by sharing this in the JD? It's definitely not intended for communicating well at the time of the interview. The purpose is to ensure you can communicate fluently after joining the organization too. Why brands insisit on this? As a writer you - are the face of the organization. - represent the organization. - spearhead the marketing & sales effort through content. - take products/services to prospects - convert them to customers. To achieve all the above, you should master effective communication. You must interact with developers, designers, marketers, sales team, vendors, partners, executives, etc. on a day-to-day basis. At every juncture, you must master the art of communicating your ideas seamlessly to others and understanding theirs. Communication is a biway process. Communication isn't limited to speaking. It's about listening when others speak too. You have to ask the right questions at the right time in "the right way" to get the right information. It does matter to get what you want. It plays a vital role in improving leads for your business. You can't survive as a writer if you can't communicate properly within or outisde your organization. So, ensure you have mastered the communication skill to help your organization and customers. #contentwriting #copywriting #writingtips #writingsuccesstips #contentwriter #communicationtips #copywriter #b2b #b2c

That is the reason why a lot of businesses are not able to share their own brand story because all they care about is words, which can fill their websites. Businesses can achieve better results if they focus on clear and engaging storytelling by hiring really good writers. Search engines are not looking for just the same information any more.
