Driven by the urgency to innovate and excel, the youth are the future architects of the country. Empowering young people through skills building, jobs, policies that promote entrepreneurship, ensure inclusive growth, and nation-building. There’s been tremendous progress made over the years. Per studies, the Skill India Mission has enabled the training of 14 million youth and the upskilling and/or reskilling of 5 million+. However, data also suggest that a significant proportion of the employable workforce lacks formal vocational or technical training. ReNew is dedicated to enhancing the skills basket among youth, improving abilities, and enhancing aptitudes. Our programs provide hands-on training in diverse areas, from Lean 5S Methods to Solar Stringer expertise, including comprehensive training in transformer installation and safe handling procedures. The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) hosted the event, ‘Pawan Urja: Powering the Future of India’, on wind energy adoption in India. Supported by ReNew, the event examined the incredible strides taken to advance wind power and secure pathways to ramp up its adoption. Maharashtra stands at the forefront of wind energy, ranking fourth among all states. ReNew Group President Chintan Shah emphasised the criticality of wind energy for grid stability in the background of Maharshtra’s own net zero goals by 2070. Chintan also stressed the optimal use of transmission infrastructure as well as land in combination with solar for hybrid, RTC, and FDRE projects. ReNew Senior Vice President Purnendu Chaubey moderated the session, ‘Solutions for Regulatory and Policy in Maharashtra’. He highlighted the problems faced by developers in installing wind projects like ROW, approvals, demand creation due to RPO compliance, repowering of wind projects, evacuation, WTG availability, OEM issues, and development of offshore wind. Wind power plays a crucial role in India’s energy mix, contributing to energy security, reducing greenhouse gas emissions, and fostering sustainable development. As a company predicated on energy affordability and access—through robust development and deployment of projects, technological innovation, efficiency, storage, and grid integration—ReNew remains fervently committed to enhancing wind power in the country.
