My Top 3 Moments from #SPMSummit 2024 We had another exhilarating experience at Indian Institute of Management Bangalore this year with 6th edition of Software Product Management Summit 2024 conducted by ISPMA — INDIA , an unique event that brings product folks with academia. This year was phenomenal as it was all around #AI , and was really fascinated that we could pull of a 3 day event just on AI! While it was hard to pick specific ones as all sessions and discussions were par excellence, I picked these 3 moments or discussions that stood out for me: 1. Aadhaar Chief Architect Pramod Varma shared some amazing simple design principles for creating product design for billions, especially in age of #AI - it was a golden slide. Key attributes: Minimal, interoperability, diversity, trust, evolvability & leveraging ecosystem. 2. Relevance of Non AI products in world of AI - this panel discussion moderated by Prof Sowmya Narayanan Sadagopan with industry practitioners was an eye opener to highlight that it's important to strengthen the core, before applying AI on top. Professor's final take that the icing on cake 🍰 can happen only when we have the cake. 3. How can product managers be more efficient with Gen AI. Ramkumar Arumugam , product manager at Swiggy walked through the framework, methodology and tools that can make a Product Manager stand out in age of #GenAI. This was a great learning session. There were other interesting sessions by Ravi Padaki on 8 trends in AI product management & important consideration of AI product with a humorous take by Deepak Chauhan , and many more. I also thoroughly enjoyed my jury duty to evaluate student case studies for Utpan market place growth - they were outstanding. Overall a great event for #prodmgmt

How can one design for a billion population? Pramod Varma, Former Chief Architect of Aadhaar, shared his thoughts on "Building products and AI for societal transformation. Building products for a consumer comes with specific challenges, but building products and platforms for a billion population requires a different outlook. The mantra is to keep it simple and be inclusive in the digital economy, thereby ensuring diversity and gender equality!
