We’re now in August 2023 and there are plenty of games releasing this month to excite gamers all around. There are several AAA titles coming to PC and consoles including the likes of Baldur’s Gate 3, Immortals of Aveum, Armored Core 6, and more. Here are some of the best games releasing in August 2023.

Baldur's Gate 3 - August 3

Baldur's Gate 3 is an upcoming RPG game developed and published by Larian Studios. This is the third direct instalment in the series, which is based on the Forgotten Realms setting from the Dungeons & Dragons (D&D) rule set. The game will be released on 3 August, 2023 for PC. It will arrive later on PS5 on September 6, 2023. There are plans for an Xbox Series X/S version as well.

Stray Gods: The Role-Playing Musical - August 10

Stray Gods: The Role-Playing Musical was delayed due to Baldur’s Gate 3 as the developers did not want to compete with Larian Studios’ game at release. So, the musical RPG will arrive a week later on August 10 instead. It is developed by Summerfall Studios and published by Humble Games. Stray Gods: The Roleplaying Musical is about Grace, a college dropout who gets accused of killing the last muse and now has to prove her innocence to the Greek gods.

Atlas Fallen - August 10

Another action RPG game, it is developed by Deck13 Interactive and published by Focus Entertainment. Atlas Fallen's primary gameplay aspect relies on the manipulation of sand and turning it into different shapes and even weaponising it. Atlas Fallen is made for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S consoles and PC.

The Texas Chain Saw Massacre - August 18

The Texas Chain Saw Massacre is an upcoming game carrying the same name from the iconic film series. The game features co-op as well as PvP combat gameplay. Leatherface, the Cook, and the Hitchhiker are just some of the playable characters in the game. The game is coming to PC, PlayStation and Xbox (also on Xbox Game Pass).

Madden NFL 24 - August 18

EA’s Madden NFL 24 will feature the latest NFL season with updated teams, players, new features, and more. Madden NFL 24 features Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen as the cover athlete. The game is heading to PC, PlayStation, and Xbox on August 18.

Immortals of Aveum - August 22

Another EA title, this is a single-player experience featuring FPS shooter mechanics but with magic. Immortals of Aveum is developed by Ascendant Studio and will be published under the EA Originals branding. The FPS shooter has a variety of spells and a comprehensive skill tree to upgrade your character’s abilities.

Fort Solis - August 22

Fort Solis is the upcoming sci-fi narrative thriller featuring Troy Baker as one of the lead voice actors alongside Roger Clark. It is a single-player narrative-driven game defined as “Moon meets Dead Space.” It is heading to PlayStation 5 and PC on August 22.

Armored Core 6: Fires of Rubicon - August 25

FromSoftware and Bandai Namco, the team behind Elden Ring, is now bringing Armored Core 6 for players. The single-player campaign game also features 1v1 and 3v3 multiplayer online modes as well. Armored Core 6: Fires of Rubicon is heading to PlayStation and Xbox consoles as well as PC.

Goodbye Volcano High - August 29

Goodbye Volcano High is an upcoming indie game developed and published by KO_OP, a studio based in Montreal. The game features high school drama, music and dinosaur characters. It will be released for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and PC.

Sea of Stars - August 29

Sea of Stars is an anticipated RPG coming from Sabotage Studio. It serves as a sequel to The Messenger. It will feature Valere and Zale, the protagonists who sue the power of the sun and moon to take down an alchemist.
