EA Sports FC 24 Officially Unveils Manchester City Forward Erling Haaland As Standard Edition Cover Star: ‘It’s a Proud Moment’

Electronic Arts has just unveiled EA Sports FC 24 in a global live stream. There were plenty of interesting features revealed for the upcoming game including evolution and PlayStyles. We also got the new HyperMotionV along with a better Frostbite engine, and more. The live event also featured multiple football icons including Didier Drogba, Ronaldinho, Alex Scott and Luis Figo to announce exclusive partnerships with Premier League, La Liga, UEFA, and the addition of two new women’s leagues to EA Sports FC 24.

As we reported previously, the game is set to launch on September 29, 2023. Here are some of the highlights from the EA Sports FC 24 live stream.

Erling Haaland on EA Sports FC 24 cover

The highlight among all the announcements made during the event was the official reveal of the standard edition cover star, Erling Haaland. This confirmed earlier leaks about the Manchester City forward and treble winner as the cover star for EA’s next football game.

Haaland was present at the official reveal and spoke about being on the cover. He mentioned his love for the picture used for the cover. The image is from the match where he scored 5 goals against RB Leipzig in the UEFA Champions League Round of 16 second-leg fixture in the competition that he went on to win last season.

“It's a dream for every single that plays football, and to be cover, it is really nice, and it is a really proud moment”, said Erling Haaland at the EA Sports FC 24 official reveal.

Highlights of the EA Sports FC 24

The game publisher claims that the upcoming game will take "In-Game Realism to the Next Level". It is attributing new features like HyperMotionV, PlayStyles, and the improved Frostbite Engine for these improvements. According to the announcement, the HyperMotion V technology has used "volumetric data" from 180+ "professional men's and women's football matches". This enables EA to replicate real-world movement in a better way inside the game.

As the name suggests, PlayStyles will provide each player with "unique capabilities" that make their playing style "more authentic". This feature goes beyond the ratings of the player to focus on the style. Finally, the improved Frostbite engine will bring "lifelike" details to the game along with smoother, more fluid animations, redesigned player models, real-world materials in the kits and more.

EA also highlighted that it is the first time when Men's and Women's Football are coming together on the same pitch. EA Sports FC 24 will be release for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC. Players who pre-order the game will get early access to the game on September 22, 2023.
