    What is IFTTT?

IFTTT, available as both a free web-based service and mobile app, works by creating connections between popular apps and services, allowing them to work together seamlessly.

The basic idea behind IFTTT is to create "Applets" or sets of instructions that trigger when certain conditions are met. This can be turning on the lights automatically when you enter your house, for example.

Founded in 2011, IFTTT has been used by over 25 million individuals around the globe to automate both business and home tasks, saving time and increasing efficiency. It's commonly used to connect disparate services and systems, making all products and services work well together in a way that instills user confidence. Best of all, it's free and only takes a couple of minutes to set up.

The magic behind our Google Calendar integrations

Our Google Calendar integrations elevate your calendar management by automatically adding the most important information directly into your calendar and providing custom notifications for the events that matter most to you.

First, let’s explain how our Google Calendar integrations work. We have 7 triggers, 13 queries, and 2 actions designed to streamline and enhance your Google Calendar experience. Triggers tell an Applet to start, queries provide data, and actions are the end result of an Applet run.

By combining these triggers, queries, and actions, our integrations provide a comprehensive toolkit for automating your Google Calendar activities. Here are some examples:

One of our triggers for our Google Calendar integrations is: New event added. This Trigger fires every time a new event is added to your Google Calendar.

Now, let's take a look at a query: List Attendees. This query gets you a list of event attendees.

Lastly, let’s take a look at one of our actions: Quick add event. This Action will add an event to your Google Calendar. Simply include a detailed description of when and what.

Use the note widget to quickly create events in Google Calendar. Simply enter a description like "Meeting with Jonathan at 3:30 on June 10th," and the event will be created on your calendar with the correct date and time. gcal2

Stay efficient: Effortlessly sync all your calendars

Different calendars can be tough to manage because you may prefer one while your company relies on another. If you are using more than one calendar, things can slip through the cracks and you risk missing upcoming deadlines. Adding an event to one calendar when it is added to your other one will help to make sure you know what you have going on each day.

For added convenience, you can sync calendars with your family or work team by sending them an email when you add an event to your schedule. This way, whenever you add an event to your schedule, an email notification will be sent to your contacts, keeping everyone informed and on the same page.

Here's some Applets to get started with:

  • Boost your productivity: Sync your to-do list with Google Calendar

If you like to carve out time on your calendar for the things on your to-do list, make sure they get done by creating an event every time you add a task to your task manager. This way, you not only allocate specific time slots for each task but also keep track of deadlines and progress more effectively.

With tasks and deadlines clearly outlined on your calendar, you’ll have a comprehensive view of your day, making it easier to stay organized and on track.

Here's some Applets to get started with:

  • Smart calendar, smart home

Integrating your calendar events with your devices and routines is a powerful way to automate your smart home. For example, automatically turn your robot vacuum off if you have a meeting, or park your lawn mower when you have guests coming over.

This level of integration not only helps you stay focused and organized but also makes managing your home more convenient and responsive to your schedule. By automating these tasks based on your calendar events, you create a more efficient and harmonious living environment.
