Wrong ad sizes on Android

I did not test with API level 31. But on API levels 29 and 30 (Android 10 / 11), the ads are wrong scaled, so they do not fit on the display. See attached screenshots.

Is there anybody who can help?

It's always recommended to keep the SDKs up to date. As of today the latest version is 23.2.0. Please refer to these Google Mobile SDK release notes and Deprecation and sunset documentation.

Feel free to contact us, if you face any difficulties with latest SDK.

 

I am using version 23.2.0, so this should be fine.

Yes, the mentioned build.gradle is correct. We have ran our Goggle sample project with test IDs and able to load ad successfully for mentioned API levels. The mentioned issue mainly depends upon ad inventory and we do not have control on it. The next step for you would be to reach out to the Product Support Team for further assistance regarding the ad serving concern.

In the meantime, I implemented calls to the ConsentManager (which I did not use before). And it turned out that even the ConsentManager dialog is somehow "wrong scaled", see the screenshot below!

Therefore, I cannot imagine that ad serving is the reason. What can be the cause of this behaviour?

As stated earlier the mentioned issue “wrong ad sizes” is not replicating in our Google Android sample apps in the API LEVEL 29, 30, 31, 32, and 33. The next step to proceed further or make progress on this issue is that we need confirmation from your end whether the mentioned issue is replicating in our Google sample apps with your app ID and ad unit ID in the devices you have mentioned above.
