The newly elected Board of Directors of the Association of Enterprises and Industries of Peloponnese and Western Greece convened for the first time on Wednesday 10/7/24. Mexas Christopher, Commercial Senior Director Metallurgy at Metlen, was elected Vice-Chairman.

The 15th Youth Entrepreneurship Summer School (YES Program) reached its conclusion on Thursday, 11 July. The program was made possible by the contribution of #Metlen, which once again demonstrated its commitment to the initiative by offering 20 scholarships, 11 of which were utilised by the children /students of colleagues. The YES Program is the inaugural summer school of youth entrepreneurship organised by a Greek university for high school students, designed to facilitate experiential learning. Over 90 students and 19 speakers participated in the program. We are pleased to have contributed to the successful completion of this significant initiative for young people.

#Metlen has achieved a historic record in net profitability for the first half of 2024. Our Net Profits After Minority Interests reached €282 million, compared to €268 million in H1 2023. Earnings per share also rose to €2.04 from €1.94 last year. Metlen Energy & Metals has successfully concluded the sale of a portfolio of photovoltaic projects to Schroders Greencoat LLP, UK. The portfolio comprises three farms situated in Gorse Lane, Lincolnshire, Defford, Worcestershire and Watnall, Nottinghamshire. The combined capacity of these facilities is 110 MWp, which is sufficient to meet the energy requirements of approximately 41,300 homes annually. #Metlen continues to occupy a leading position in the global solar energy sector, specialising in the development and construction of complex, large-scale projects. The company's comprehensive service offering includes detailed design and long-term maintenance, providing customers with a seamless and integrated solution. #Metlen made a significant contribution to the achievement of Sustainable Development Goals 4, 10 and 17 (Goal 4 "Quality Education", Goal 10 “Reduced Inequalities" and 17 "Cooperation for the goals") by providing invaluable support for the implementation of the Disability Awareness Educational Programme "Focus on the Person" of SKEP - Σ.Κ.Ε.Π. By employing the international methodology SROI (Social Return on Investment), #Metlen demonstrated that for every €1 invested in the educational programme "Focus on the Person", €4.13 of social value was generated.

On 15/07/24 in Thessaloniki, we celebrated our renaming to #Metlen Energy & Metals with our partners, institutional and media representatives. The change marks the beginning of a new era, during which we aim to prove that we will continue to play a leading role in developments, both in Greece and – most importantly – internationally. As Vivian Bouzali, Chief Corporate Affairs & Communication Officer of #Metlen, observed, "As far as the company may expand, it will always have its ‘core’ existence in Greece, where everything began. Οne of our most outward-facing activities, Renewable Sources (M Renewables), has its roots in Thessaloniki."

In 2023, #Metlen Energy & Metals continued to demonstrate remarkable consistency in high ESG performance. Sustainability management as an integral part of #Metlen's business model remains a key driver in strengthening the company's ability to achieve business and financial advancement. #Metlen has for the first time managed to be in the top 1% of companies globally. The company contributed €3.63 billion of value added to the national economy, equivalent to 1.65% of the Greek GDP.
