Mokutarou Kikuta (菊田 杢太郎, Kikuta Mokutarō) is a Warrant Officer of the 7th Division.
Appearance[]
Kikuta is a tall and muscular Japanese man. He has dark hair that is parted at the side, a square face with a broad forehead. There are well-defined lines on his forehead and cheeks. He has sunken downturned dark eyes and thin, almost invisible eyebrows. He sports a pencil mustache with a small tuft of beard on his chin. There is a branch-like scar on his chest that stretches from his left peck to the top of his abs.
He wears a typical officer uniform. Under his coat, Kikuta wears multiple holsters all over his torso, each one of them carrying a Nagant M1895 which he can quickly change hand to whenever his current guns run out of ammo. He also took a liking to a dark-brown striped scarf that he took from Toni Anji.[3]
Personality[]
Kikuta is a down-to-earth man. He appears stoic and confident and is interested in material things, like guns and other trophies he can collect from the men he kills.
He often acts as a mentor or an older brother figure to other soldiers, as he previously used to be an instructor in the Imperial Japanese Army Academy. For a brief time, Kikuta took care of Sugimoto, whose innocence and naivete reminded him of his younger brother. Kikuta is friends with Rikimatsu Ariko; he displays a lot of care for Ariko and appears to trust him.
Despite his nonchalant appearance, Kikuta lives with a feeling of guilt. He blames himself for the death of his younger brother, who he persuaded to join the army. For that he believes he will have "vip seats on the train to hell".

| While not particularly cunning, Kikuta has acted as a spy for quite awhile. He is shown to not be averse to doing dirty jobs like kidnapping when it comes to reaching the goal of his commander.

- He is younger than Tsurumi and older than Tsukishima.[7]
- According to Satoru Noda, Kikuta has one of the biggest penises in the manga; the other listed characters are Tanigaki, Ushiyama, and Kiroranke. [8]
