These updates bring powerful new features to enterprise-level nonprofit organizations, allowing you to leverage Braintree’s robust security and fraud prevention tools while enjoying improved integration with our donation forms and recurring donation capability.

What is Braintree?

Braintree is a premium payment gateway that enables organizations to collect donations via supported payment methods, primarily credit cards. Known for its superior fraud protection and security features, Braintree is preferred by enterprise-level organizations that prioritize secure and reliable transaction processing.

What’s New?

Our latest updates to the Braintree add-on include compatibility with Visual Donation Form Builder forms and support for Recurring Donations. Here’s a detailed look at the enhancements:

Visual Donation Builder Forms Compatibility

Braintree payment fields now integrate smoothly with Visual Donation Builder forms. This means you can create and customize your donation forms using Visual Donation Form Builder while enjoying the secure payment processing Braintree offers.

Enabling Braintree in VDFB:

• Navigate to Settings > Payment Gateways.
• Select the Visual Form Builder tab.
• Find Braintree and check the Enabled box.
• Update the label if desired.

Support for Recurring Donations

You can now empower donors to opt into recurring donations via Braintree, making it easier for them to support your cause on an ongoing basis. This feature ensures consistent funding and fosters long-term relationships with your supporters.

To enable subscriptions, add the Webhook URL to Braintree webhooks. This step is crucial for ensuring the proper functionality of recurring donations:

• Copy the Webhook URL from Donations > Settings > Payment Gateways > Braintree.
• Go to the Braintree dashboard and navigate to Settings > API > Webhooks.
• Create a new Webhook, paste the URL, select the events you want to listen for and click “Create Webhook.”

Enhanced Security with 3D Secure Payments

Braintree now supports 3D Secure payments, providing an additional layer of fraud prevention. This feature helps verify the authenticity of transactions, giving you and your donors peace of mind.

PCI Compliance for Older Forms

Forms created with our platform’s older version are now PCI compliant, ensuring your organization meets industry standards for secure payment processing.
