This week’s meeting will be hosted by @lada7042 .

1. News

1. Meeting Note Takers

2. Looking for feedback

  • ⭐ What is Learn WordPress’ North Star? ⭐
Is similar to a mission statement about the purpose of our team.
Training Team’s north star - The WordPress Training Team helps people learn to use, extend, and contribute to WordPress through learn.wordpress.org.

Here are a few thoughts the team reps came up with in a brainstorming session.
             - Learn WordPress’s north star
             - Is Learn WordPress the site where folks come to learn about the most relevant and up to date content
on WordPress? Is it the place where we encourage and guide folks to be at the forefront of the software?
             - fostering a collaborative learning community
             - Relevant + most up to date
             - The place to come to learn about WordPress

  • The original WordPress.org Training Team site is archived but to not confuse someone who might find it we propose to disable this site from public-view, but repo stays.
    Can #dev-squad help with this?
If you have any feedback please reply in the thread.

  • Are the meeting notes in their current form beneficial to anyone? Reply in 🧵

3. Looking for volunteers

4. Other news

  • As you might have read in the Slack channel an original content was overridden by a translated version. Thanks to all that communicated with each other to address the issue and find a solution.
PLEASE - DO NOT assign translated lessons to a course, just publish them as standalone lessons.

  • Tutorial deprecation
As part of the reduction in the number of content types on the Learn WP site, Tutorials are being deprecated and will eventually be converted into Lessons. (Tutorial data migration #2393) I've added a note at the top of all Tutorial-related handbook pages, to make that clear. It's a synced pattern so is easy to update if needed.
