when I installed privacy badger (Chrome, today, 5-Oct-2016). lastpass could no longer fill in passwords for me (on my CU, goamplify.com, nor my own webmail domain).

Is this intentional?

That definitely shouldn't be happening. I'm not a LastPass user myself (I use 1Password instead), but I did install the extension briefly and tested it on a random site and it seemed to work.

Do you no longer see the LastPass icon in the login fields on these sites? Or instead is it just not doing anything when you click them? I'm wondering too if you see anything in the Developer Console (Control+Alt+J / Cmd+Alt+J) that might clarify what's happening.

Privacy Badger won't interfere with anything on the page that's loaded from the same domain as the site you're visiting, so it shouldn't ever interfere with login fields...

I see the icon, but it doesn't seem to know the site, nor give me choices.

I can play again this weekend. What are you looking for from the dev console? (I'm a SysAdmin in $DAY
JOB)

I was thinking there might an error or warning displayed in the console about the LastPass extension being blocked in some way.

Another idea might be to see what the LastPass extension's background page is saying. The way to do this is to go to chrome://extensions, then click on "background page" and see if the console in this popup is displaying anything indicating an error that might be related to it not working as expected.

Also, to clarify, is this happening on every site you visit? For example, on github.com as well?

@lrosenman Just following up real quick to see if you're still having this issue and if you have had a chance to poke around the developer console to see if anything looks to be awry.

I suspect that what is going on here is simply that privacy badger is blocking lastpass. @lrosenman if you go to the privacy badger settings and search for lastpass related domains, what do you see?

I've noticed on certain sites as well, but I've yet to find the common elements. However, privacy badger doesn't seem to be blocking lastpass outright. See below sites listed in the privacy badger toolbar dropdown while on soundcloud.com:

I can confirm there seems to be an issue with Lastpass and Privacy Badger. Automatic filling of username and password fields work, but it's not possible to generate a new random password. The generated password field stays empty and clicking on the 'generate' button does nothing. Also Lastpass doesn't seem to be in the list of blocked domains. Can you direct me to the Developer console and what i have to look for?

@KenSentMe do you see errors in the webpage's console?

Does this still happen if you disable privacy badger for this site? You can do this in the pop-up. It might still effect the site, even though it is disable.

P.s. thank you for searching for existing issues 🙌

@cowlicks The issue involves the Lastpass extension, not the site. Disabling Privacy Badger for the Lastpass website doesn't solve my problem.

Can you give me some directions on where to look for the console? (is it Developer -> Tools -> Javascript Console?)

@KenSentMe my understanding is the the lastpass extension modifies webpages you visit so it can insert your password, generate a random password, etc. I suspect PB may be interfering with this. So errors in the website's console might indicate this.

The privacy badger console can be accessed by going to chrome://extensions/ then enabling developer mode, then inspecting the background page (in the PB section).

@cowlicks Thanks. I found the console now, but i don't see anything that seems related to the Lastpass extension.

Also, generating password usually happens inside the extension, not on the website of the service i want to generate a password for. Only after the password is generated, Lastpass inserts in the password field on that website. That last part still works.

The issue appears to affect the Firefox as well. In my case, it manifests by LastPass addon not able to connect to the server, i.e. regular error message like below

An error occurred while attempting to contact the server. Please check your Internet connection.

I tried debugging addon feature in Firefox and saw 24 error messages like below in the console

Error: Could not establish connection. Receiving end does not exist.
