Ice Spice Teams Up With Central Cee For New Song “Did It First”

It’s the duo’s first-ever collaboration.

Ice Spice has linked up with U.K. rapper Central Cee for “Did It First,” their first-ever collaboration and the fourth single off Ice’s forthcoming debut album, Y2K! Produced by Lily Kaplan, Nico Baran, and RIOTUSA, the song tells the tale of a cheating boyfriend and the wronged woman who’s getting ready for some revenge infidelity.

In the chorus that opens the song, Ice compares her romantic situation to the children’s card game UNO. She’ll play that reverse card without even batting an eye.

If he cheatin', I’m doin' him worse (Like)
No Uno, I hit the reverse (Grrah)
I ain’t trippin', the grip in my purse (Grrah)
I don’t care, ‘cause he did it first (Like)

For some people, getting cheated on leads to feelings of inadequacy. This is not a problem for Ice Spice. Here she is in the first verse, fully aware of her worth.

I’m a baddie, he fuck with my tats (Like)
Big boobs and it come with a jatt
Say he don’t want me, I know he a cap (Cap)
Oh, you cheatin'? Then I’m cheatin' back

Cench takes the second verse and begins by trying to hide his philandering.

I’m selective with who I get with
Gyal on my phone tryna see who I slept with
She investigating, detective
Lucky for me, I deleted the message

It wasn’t a one-time thing. This is regular behavior for Central Cee’s character. It seems he’s addicted to the excitement that comes with the risk of being caught.

I keep comin' with stupid excuses
Like, “I was juiced and tripped and fell in”
I might take the risk DMing
But I don’t know ‘cause these chicks be tellin’
At the minute, I’m hittin' some risky women
I clearly ain’t learn my lesson

In the “Did It First” music video, Ice Spice raps from her bed, hangs with Cench at a party, and messes around with a Y2K-era desktop computer.
