Last day of #Movember!   Did you know that when prostate cancer is detected before it becomes metastatic, the survival rate is nearly 100%? But men’s cancers are still a taboo topic. Less than half of prostate cancer patients don’t speak about their symptoms to their doctor, and even less to their friends and family. So many go undiagnosed even though a simple conversation would have made the difference.   And that’s what Movember is all about. Have fun with the mustache. And start the conversation.

To support both collaborators and business, Invectys is providing its employees with Lily Facilite la vie, an Employee Assistance Program (EAP).   While we all try to separate our private and work lives, we know how much the small day-to-day issues can invade us at the workplace. Lily Facilite la Vie is a platform of practical advice, video and article resources, and dedicated coaches that aims to help employees deal with their personal concerns. Whether they regard children, sleep or administrative tasks, the goal is to provide collaborators with tips and tools to better address their issues. Less stress at home means less stress at work, and both employees and employers benefit.

As we are halfway through Breast Cancer Awareness Month, it is important to remind ourselves of a still tragic reality: breast cancer represents 12% of all new yearly cancer cases worldwide (2.3 million people), above lung cancer, and is the deadliest cancer among women, with nearly 700 000 deaths every year. But it is just as important to remember how far we’ve come. 35 years ago, in the USA, the mortality rate of breast cancer was 22.6 per 100 000 people. Today it is just above 12. In France, that number went from 20 to 15. In the UK, from 29 to 15, and in Canada from 23.6 to 12.9. We have made extraordinary, life-saving progress. And we’re far from finished.
