So, this is my first time installing mods on New Vegas (using Mod Organizer 2, btw). I followed the instructions on the mods themselves, as well as ideas from multiple threads on load orders, but when I boot up the game, my cursor never appears and neither does the various icons on the main menu of the game. I have tried multiple fixes suggested online, including changing load order, disabling mods one at a time to find the culprit, and even disabling every mod to see if it fixes. Nothing has worked. Can anyone at least attempt to help me fix this? What the hell is it THIS time!?!? Just earlier today, the game was working fine, the very last technical change I've done to it most recently was updating the Script Extender to 6.11 a few weeks ago, I'm doing Far Harbor, and all of a sudden THIS bulls*** happens!!! The game suddenly just crashes the minute I click the in the main menu. It always starts with cutscenes like always, I skip those, the main menu says "press any keye", I press it, and PUM!! Back to desktop. It doesn't even say "Sorry it stopped working", it just straight up all disappears. what the f*** is the f***ing problem THIS time!?!?!? EDIT: Okay, just on a hunch, I disconnected my computer from the wi-fi, and suddenly everything is back to normal. With that in mind, I'm guessing the crashing was caused by Creation Club? Before, it always did used to connect to it in some way, EVEN THOUGH I ABSOLUTELY NEVER USED IT!!! Seriously, I never used Creation Club, I never even aknowledged it. What's happening, is that thing going through some kind of update? Is there a way to shut it down for good? I'm not sure I'm okay playing the game and regularly disconnect my computer from wi-fi to do so.

I am trying to install the 50 Shades of Rudy - ReShaded Rudy ENB for CoT https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/10759 But to get reshade to work i have to change the name of the dxgi.ini and .dll to d3d11. This makes it not possible to install enb series... since that has a file called d3d11. when the the reshade file is called dxgi, it crashes on startup.

Hello, I have a big problem with my game I can't open it ! When I launch it, the SKSE console opens and then nothing :confused: I have a lot of mods and I thought it came from some of them but no matter how hard I tried I couldn't find any way to detect where it came from. I have no log since these do not have time to be done (or then I do not know where to look for them, nothing on Papyrus'). I tried LOOT and it detect nothing, Wrye Bash, Creation Kit for Oldrim mods, SSEEdit, Firewall blocking. I don't know what to do now, I tried many techniques for no result. This is my load order : My entire mod collection for more details : My main hypothesis was an outcome because of a RAM problem but I found no solution since there is not supposed to be any such problem. Also such problems with SKSE.ini but I didn't know how it work at all. Thank you in advance for your reading and help ! EDIT: Forgot this post, the CTD was due to forgetting to unpacked RaceMenu and add SKEE plugin... Sorry for the useless post :wallbash:

I have 65 mods for CP2077, and the game crashes on startup. I'm not sure what's causing it, but I have pictures of the mods, but it seems I can't attach all of them because of the 250kb file max?

Hey, I need help. When I launch Vortex a window apperar with write " Startup Failed. Vortex seems to be already running. If you can see it check the task manager " The problem is that when I check the task manager it says that 4 vortex are running, but I open it just once. To sum up, when I launch vortex, 4 vortexes are launched simultaneously, which prevents me from using it. Can someone help me ?

Went to play Skyrim today, and after updating Vortex to the most recent version as of August 31 2022, the game straight up refuses to start up, even though it was working fine before the update. From what I can see, the game is still activated and stuff, so the cause for this is completely beyond me

I can't play fallout 4 anymore for some reason. I try to start the game through both vanilla launcher and the up to date script extender and both cause it to crash to desktop after going to a black screen with the blue loading circle for a mouse pointer. My game has only a few mods and that shouldn't clash. I have tried verifying my game cache and it does nothing. This all started after the creation club update and I have been trying ever since then to find a solution. I would appreciate any help. Thank you!!!

Hi guys, Steam likes to warn users about the dangers of being antisocial, so it will throw up a warning when you try to open Steam again, after closing it in offline mode. If you prefer Steam to open in the background, or like me, don't want your friends to know how much of a degenerate you are (wayyy too many hours of Skyrim), then this tutorial is for you. Step 1 Go to your Steam installation directory (typically C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam) and create a new text file that you'll rename to a .bat file. I called mine SteamOffline.bat. Open your new batch file with notepad and paste these lines: These commands change two lines in a file called loginusers.vdf, which tells Steam to (1)start offline and (2)skip the offline message. In addition, the steam client will start in your system tray without opening. Save your batch file and make sure it works by exiting Steam (shouldn't be running in Task Manager) and double-clicking the batch file to run it. Make everything neat by right-clicking your batch file and clicking Create shortcut. You can change the icon and rename the shortcut to look like the original Steam application. Step 2 You might notice that a terminal opens up briefly before Steam runs, then disappears. We can address this by making the program start minimized. Then, right-click your new shortcut and click Properties. In the drop-down menu labeled Run:, select Minimized, then click okay to close the properties window. You can now use this shortcut to replace all your Steam shortcuts to always start Steam offline. Step 3 Now we'll replace Steam's startup entry with a modified offline entry. In the upper left hand corner of the Steam menu, go to Steam > Settings > Interface and uncheck Run Steam when my computer starts. Step 6 Reboot your computer and enjoy Offline Steam as it was intended! btw, does anyone know how to make image thumbnails in Nexus Forums without resizing the actual image? This forum uses some really weird bbcode for images. Edit If it randomly stops working and the Offline Mode warning popup starts appearing again, open steam normally and see if it requests your username and password. If so, you need to sign in to steam again and remember to check the "Remember my password" box. Windows version updates, e.g. 1902 to 20H2 can cause apps to sign you out, resulting in some things breaking.

Hi, I have been trying to follow Gopher's Ultimate New Vegas modding guide with several other mods but my game is currently crashing after only a few minutes of gameplay and often when I try to startup the game. Are there any bugfixes left for me to try? Ok so ive been modding skyrim for a while now and this is the first time ive had difficulty getting my mods to work together. I've been through the ringer with LOOT and TES5Edit to get this to work. Im not missing any esps and my master files have been cleaned. The only errors that LOOT gives me is the DLC compatibility patches for UFO needed cleaned but i dont know how to do that. I think its a mod incompatibility but i cant seem to find it. If anyone could help that would be great. As the title says, I only installed F4SE. (had some issues with MO so I redowloaded the whole game and deleted all other files that where left behind from the last version so this is a clean undmoded install) It starts the game (Taskmanager) but the screen is just black and my mouse shows that something is happening but than it just says "Fallout 4 has stopped working" The game is not on my boot drive but on a separate gaming drive. I'm running Windows 7 x64. And it runs just fine with normal launcher. Anyone have an idea? Tanks for for time and help :smile:

TL;DR on the bottom. So, I've been trying to run my Skyrim Legendary Edition for the past week or so. Day by day, night by night all I did whenever I had an occassion to touch the PC was to try and run Skyrim. I started off as a total newb in modding and generally the technical stuff. It was years ago that I first tried my first mods for Skyrim. It was great, it was fun, everything was broken and everything kept crashing but it was mine. I did it and I was the one having fun. Then, life has taken Skyrim away from me for said years and only lately have I come back. I got myself a Skyrim LE copy with all the shiny stuff and all. It was running just fine for the first 20 minutes. Then I decided to change the course of history (of Skyrim) and get some mods. The intro is boring and takes too long, the "Helgen sequence" is more fun if you mod 5 dragons into Solitude and simply rename it to "Solitude sequence" etc etc. Anyway, I closed the game and downloaded all the mod stuff I would need. Got myself TES5EDIT, got myself NMM, got myself LOOT and then I embarked on an adventure to find the dankest mods in all nexusmods.com. Over the minutes, hours, days I was getting better and better in modding, I started understanding things that people do not normally care to understand, I started paying attention to my load order, started doing cool things with TES5EDIT and generally got gud. Then, something unexpected and horrifying struck me down... I experienced my first ever STARTUP CTD. PANIC. Panic arised inside my head and for a second I was paralysed. "Think" - I said to myself - "Think, you're prepared for this. You've been training! You CAN do it!" and started mingling with the load order as I knew it was most likely the problem. I ticked off all the variations of the compatibility patches for mods I do not have or downloaded these mods to add difficulty and epicness. I deleted a few mods said to cause plenty of startup crashes and other stability issues. I started deactivating my mods one by one starting from the least master-like mods to end with the ones most important. I was reaching the top of my load order. My fingers started trembling with fear as I knew... In a few disabled mods I will get to the horrifying part of troubleshooting... the skyrim.esm. But I did not take my hands off my keyboard. Oh no. I turned on TES5EDIT and checked the masters for errors and missing records/files/other masters. My only ally in this war came up with no results... Not a single red-tinted message, not a single warning to help me with my struggles. Panic struck again. It had to be done... I reinstalled the game. Reinstalled SKSE, started slowly adding the essential mods and stopped at a count of maybe 5 or 7 of them. Tried running Skyrim again and then another dose of terror pierced my heart. It couldn't be... More startup CTDs? On a clean reinstall?! It was madness. And so it started again. I started disabling and uninstalling the mods. Checking each plugin for errors and verifying every cache there was. I even cleaned my WHOLE load order with T5E. It was all for nothing. It didn't matter if I tried running the game as administrator. It didn't matter if it was via SKSE or the launcher. Nothing mattered anymore. My life goal has become to run the game, that I remember running just fine so many times. Visions of dragon slaughter and CBBE orgies still haunt my dreams... The will to fight in the endless warzone conflicts keeps arising every day. But now I know what to do. It will work now. I'm reinstalling the game again. This time it's all clean. Everything I could think of. If I fail, I swear to the holy nine that Bethesda will perish for what they did to me... TL;DR Startup CTD crashes. It's not a loadorder thing, can't be. It must be a problem with skyrim.esm or one of the DLCs in my copy of the game. It literally won't let the game show the main menu. What I tried: - changing default audio settings both to CD quality and to Studio quality; - disabling every mod there was; - doing a few clean reinstalls; - verifying; - using TES5EDIT to find missing masters; - running the game as admin via both launcher and SKSE; - running it without DLCs activated in load order. So far no results. I just finished the next reinstall. Trying something again and I'll get back with results. PS: Post made mainly to help those with similar problems. If I ever find a fix that is.

I'm getting a CTD whenever I try to launch Skyrim with Falskaar as an active mod. I've run TES5Edit and it is definitely Falskaar that is causing the issues I've tried launching with only Falskaar active and I'm having the same issue, so I'm ruling out a mod incompatibility. when i launch i get to the imperial symbol (the dragon inside the diamond shape) but the menu doesn't load. after approx. 1 minute the CTD occurs this is the error in TES5Edit that I get; [00:07] Background Loader: loading "Falskaar.esm"... Please help! So the other day I finally managed to get fnv4gb to work with nvse, on my steam bought fallout new vegas. up till this point I simply used nvse to launch, but realised my game was using up memory to fast so i extended it with fnv4gb. it worked for a few days. now when I attempt to launch with fnv4gb. it begins a weird looping sequence that has me scratching my head as to a solution. To explain better, I use nexus mod manger v (0.61.23) with the latest nvse 5.03 and the latest fnv4gb. now I use nexus mod manger to launch fnv4gb, which in turn is supposed to launch nvse, both have administrator privileges and must be confirmed on start up, but now its a never ending cycle. I would click to launch, click to allow administrator whatever, then it would show steams opening fallout new vegas window. but suddenly the admin y/n box appears again. and this is a never ending loop. I cant figure out what is wrong. all my files are there, I've verified the local files, I've checked to make sure nothing is conflicting load order wise. but that should affect launch. I have no idea what to do. I'm trying to avoid re downloading the entire game as I'm Aussie who lives rurally, meaning my internet is slow and it would take me almost 3-4 weeks to download again. P.s Nvse + the normal fallout luncher also does the same thing, so its not just fnv4gb to clarify.

Hello all, I've run into the strangest problem. I've scoured the internet and I can't find a single reference to this issue! Looks like I'm the only one to ever have this problem (LOL) Skyrim starts up just fine, then when I select "start new game" and I get a choice like "add X item" Yes or No, the cursor/arrow disappears. There is no way to make a selection and I can't seem to use the keyboard to make a selection either. Anyone? Any help would be much appreciated. -RG

Do someone know where the "Press any button to start" text at startup is located? I have been poking around in the interface files but have not found it. Have I not looked hard enough or in the right place?

Hi Although I have been using the creation kit a very long time and I know I read something about this at one time, can someone tell me how to make the creation kit when sirst started open to recent viewed cells ? Howdy world. I have previously used the nexus mod manager for modding Fallout New Vegas, and have had no issues with it in the past. I recently purchased dark souls, and decided I wanted it to say "Thanks Obama" upon death. Luckily, there was a mod for that. I added dark souls to my list of games that I own on the startup menu for NMM, and opened it. This happened: I tried typing that address into file explorer, and it is indeed missing. Why is is important? How do I fix it? Will I have to go my whole life without thanking Obama? Please tell me.

Hey all, hope you're enjoying your morning/afternoon/evening! So I'm having an issue with my mods, and it may or may not have to do with my load order. I'm kinda spoiled, as I always used BOSS, and then LOOT when it came out, and considering that they don't have a masterlist for Fallout 4 yet, I do the best I can with the load order specified by mod authors (For those who actually do give specifications). The problem I'm having is connected to the Homemaker mod, but it started out of nowhere. So I primarily got it for the food planters and the Covenant walls (Gotta build my Commonwealth fortress!) and everything was alright, until one day I went to access the custom doors section (Since I can't seem to put doors in any doorways that are pre-existing), and it goes to the scroll bar...and CTD's. So I ended up booting the game again, and it went fine as long as I didn't access the custom doors (I just figured I'd wait for an update). Now, however, I had forgotten and went to access the custom doors again, and I CTD. So I remembered, went to reboot, and it gave me the black screen right before the bootup, and then crashed (No error message, no "Fallout 4.exe is not responding", just a crash. So i went and checked for an update and found one. I downloaded it, but still nothing. I don't know if it's an issue with my load order, or if something else is going on. I tried deactivating the mod (I also deleted the old esp and all files associated with it just to be safe) and it still gives nothing. Below I'm attaching my load order, maybe it's something there? Any and all help is greatly appreciated. Thanks! Tanis

For some reason no matter what i do, uninstalling New Vegas, Nvse, or even installing older versions of Nvse fix this seemingly stoppable crash. I have the text file of the startup: can someone PLEASE help me fix this. I have been trying to fix this for several days now..

So I recently got a new PC and I was wondering if anyone could help me with selecting some texture mods that would suite my interests. I'm looking for an normal 1080p HD or 2K mod that makes Skyrim look glumly. Bitter, dark, great winter nights. what skyrim is supposed to look like. I'm pretty sure my system can handle this sort of thing. My PC specs: i7-4920HQ CPU @2.60Ghz Turbo Boost up to 3.6Ghz Nividia GTX 960M 4GB GPU 16GB of DDR3L-1600 RAM Again, sorry if this a stupid question to ask and/or wrong thread. Any help is appreciated.

I've been playing for sometime and today the game started crashing on startup. I checked if any master files are missing, used FNVedit. I reinstalled most of my mods, game still crashes. Load Order: Can anyone help me or tell me of i'm missing any important files?Or if any mods are incompatible with each other. EDIT: Turns out the save file was corrupted. Starting a new game.

so just as the title says, my skyrim minimizes after i try to start it with my Skyrim SKSE, i dont think it has anything to do with the mods because it worked just fine before. it's not a crash, so there's no missing masters, it just minimizes and when i try to get it up again, it minimizes again, do any of you know why? I have windows 8.1, i tried to run it as compability thing on windows 8, didnt help or anything, can you smart people help an average person? >.< Much appreciated guys EDIT;okay well.. i got it to work now i dont know what the hell i did ._. now, it crashes when i press "Play" and as it finished loading, it crashes
