  8. Is there a way to stop tracking all mods at once or more than one at a time?
  9. So after Vortex updated, my Tut chest went from almost 5,000 items to now just over 1,500. I have THE SAME MODS installed but most of them are not showing up in my game. I know SOME have been deleted, but I still have the file (and they are not showing up in game) I have tried to reinstall/redownload the game AND the mods and Vortex. The only ones that DO show up are the ones I have redownloaded from Nexus itself.

  13. So within the last eight hours, the predictive search function for the Nexus Mods site has simply stopped functioning. Initially I thought this might be a browser issue, but after double-checking my Firefox browsing settings I've verified that there's nothing from preventing in-site search functionality from working and other sites still support this search function. I haven't changed anything in my settings to suspend or prevent this function, and I've verified that the issue extends to every game on Nexus Mods, not just the ones I usually frequent. I've also verified that the mods I'm searching for exist, though curiously the predictive search no longer even notifies me of searches without results either. When searching mods that I know are active, pressing the enter key or prompting the site to search the term still pulls up results on the loaded page, but won't give me a preview of the mod or mods with the search string in the title. Honestly kind of stumped - the function isn't necessary per say, but it's something I noticed immediately and would like to restore if at all possible - thanks. Edit: I've verified that the function also isn't functioning on other web browsers.
  14. Hiya, so I am...PAINFULLY new to PC gaming and modding. I recently downloaded NMM because I had heard it was relatively easy to get into. However, I've been having a lot of issues with the client. Unfortunately...I can't upload the pictures here because they're apparently too big, but I get to the selection screen where you choose the game you want to manage mods for, and then the program just never pops up. Yet it says it's running in the background. When I tried to uninstall it, it just kept saying to close the program even though it wasn't showing up anywhere on my screen. No icon, no options, nothing. Yes I know I am being extremely vague. I am extremely new to PC gaming. Any help at all would be appreciated.
  15. Hello so I will start from the beginning I want to add a four poster bed to skyrim but I want the Mesh to have different Material Sounds corresponding with that specific part of the mesh for example. the bed frame sounding like wood and the blanket sounding like cloth the bed is on whole mesh with selectable parts on it. I understand Chunk Merge is supposed to be able to do it so depending on what you name each NiTriShape for example the bed frame to SKY_HAV_MAT_HEAVY_WOOD and then name the blanket to SKY_HAV_MAT_CLOTH âand then using chunk merge to generate collision the actual mesh would then have two materials on those parts. âBut it wont work for me I generate the collision fine but those areas do not have their own sounds. so I don't know what I am doing wrong. I will upload two Nif files one is the actual Four Poster Bed. and the optimized one with all names changed to collision Materials. I hope someone can shine a light on this situation and help me out. LINK: http://www.mediafire.com/file/xav1huspsoeftaa/Bed.7z/file Please Reply ASAP. Regard: Stephen999
  16. Just bought NV from the Steam sale and trying to get mods running on it. I have found a decent number to install and just trying to get them set up. However, the main/starter mod "Mod Configuration Menu" is not picking up NVSE. I have NVSE downloaded and extracted into its own folder and then coped into the "Fallout New Vegas" folder where it is supposed to be. Also, made a 7zip of the NVSE data folder which I then put into Nexus and checked. I didnt have this prb with Fallout 4 and I tried the few troubleshoots I know from my couple months playing with mods so IDK why it isnt detecting it. If anyone can help that would be great screenshot below if visual is easier to follow than my description.
  17. Well, I had this idea for a radio station with a news anchor that not only plays music & puts a new spin on your actions during vanilla quests, but also reports on your progress on popular lore-friendly quest mods and companion mods. Maybe even fully-voiced interviews with popular companions. Did you survive Vault 1080? Did you decide to hire Duke & Armstrong? Did you make contact with the Enclave in America Rising? Wanna hear a whacky interview between the news anchor of Nexus Radio and The Storyteller? Do you want to hear reports of your sweet new APC driving all across the commonwealth? Well, tune in to Nexus Radio! Also had the idea of making this mod a quest mod, too. Not entirely sure how I want the quest to play out. But I already have the News Anchor's background story worked out. The only obvious problems that I have are the following: 1.) I don't have a script yet. Its just a really awesome idea at this stage. Really holding off on writing it because of the other problems listed below. 2.) I'm sadly not a modder. So I would have to reach out to mod authors who feel like this mod idea is worth there time. All I can do is provide a script and voice the news anchor (until a better voice actor can be found). 3.) Getting permission from the mod authors to mention their mods in this mod. 4.) Getting the amazing voice talents who have voiced some of the most popular companion mods and quest mods here on the site to record lines for proposed interviews. What do you guys think? Too ambitious to even attempt? Possible in the hands of the right mod authors?
  18. Hello! I am having quite a few problems with Skyrim and NMM (Nexus Mod Manager). Alright so the problems started yesterday when i saw a friend playing Skyrim and thought "hey I want to play through that game again". A feeling I'm sure quite a lot of you can relate with. So I wanted to play basically vanilla with just some few added mods. Mainly to increase "immersion" or fix bugs. Nothing game changing or anything like that. So I open up NMM and start disabling most of my mods. After that I wanted to enable some mods but when I double clicked the mod it didn't enable. So I clicked on the mod and then the "Activate" button. But still nothing happened. I thought "Whatever" and started to play Skyrim. All went fine no problems and i had a genuinely great time, but when I started it up today after fiddling around with the mods a bit it started crashing. Again I had to come to a compromise so i simply disabled everything except the DLC's of course, and that's where my current problems began. I started up Skyrim and it froze on the main menu. But when I say freeze I don't really mean 100% isn't responding. The steam FPS counter still worked, the music played and the smoke-y background still played. I could still open the console. So being a master of Skyrim hacking* from having fun on side character (I try to cheat as little as possible on my actual characters) I tried some commands until I wrote into the console "load quicksave". It started loading and I felt a rush of relief, until it completed loading and crashed. It probably crashed because of the mods missing so sure I can make a new character and play through the beginning again no biggie. But the problems I'm trying to solve is: 1. Fix NMM so i can actually load mods and disable them correctly 2. Fix so that Skyrim responds to my keyboard/controller (preferably controller although i tried both in all types of ways) Only serious answers, I've already played around with the load order and "LOOT" so there isn't much to be done there. Any help would be greatly appreciated and also thank you for reading through the whole thing, seriously i need the help seeing as I am far from a modding wiz and desperately need to play Skyrim, and by extension your help. *Not actually a master at Skyrim hacking.
  19. what the title says, cant enable Skyrim DLC in nexus, in plugins cant find the (DLC).esm, but the mods that require the DLC it says the DLC is disabled but it is there anyone know how to enable the DLC in nexus
  20. I tried Vortex since they said it was new and was an easier time using mods. I downloaded it and managed fallout 4 and Skyrim, copyed my mods over etc, but at the end of the day I didn't want to keep it. I deleted all the mods from Vortex and then hit the purge button to clear up any remaining bits, and then removed Vortex from my system. I signed into my account on the nexus, refired up NMM, downloaded a couple mods from the Nexus just to make sure everything was okay and working fine. So far so good. However when I fire up fallout 4 or Skyrim none of the mods are there! They show up downloaded and enabled in my NMM but whenever I try to play fallout 4 or skyrim it will either crash outright or all of my mods will just not be there? It's like they're there but the game and NMM are failing to communicate. I tried running it in administrator and clicking the box "Associate with NXM URLS" but that didn't fix it either. Is the problem just that NMM doesn't know where to look for the mods? Did Vortex screw my mod folder up?Any help would be greatly appreciated please!
  21. Hello, I'm trying to make it so that any mod that's a preset doesn't display. I really don't prefer to just simply go around and blocking a bunch of individuals for no reason, and would much rather just filter my results, but I don't know how to do this. Can anybody please help me?
  22. I'm going to be frank with whoever reads this and try to explain this in the best way possible. Bear in mind, I have no programming skills, no idea at all what it is I'm doing. I see a ';' and all I see is a semicolon, not a script element or whatever it is you call it. I cannot emphasise how little I know about this. My understanding of this topic is so barren it could suck Windows out of Bill Gates' mind in a short conversation. I don't even know how to write a digit in binary. There are cats who could sit better code than I can. If I were in charge of a major government file and you told me no single button could do the opposite of what you want, I would press that button having no clue what I had just done. DO NOT under any circumstances assume I know what is I'm doing. So upon browsing various tutorials that agreed, yes, Vortex is easy to install. No, there aren't any compatibility issues with your Windows version. Of Course, the entire thing is automatic, there's nothing you need to do. Except for the fact that there MUST be some compatibility issue because I, with an archaic laptop running a partially fossilised Windows 8.1 that can somehow support Skyrim well enough that I'm not running in to invisible NPCs in Custard Ash textures, end up with a shadow of a Vortex that can't be supported by anything else (even itself. I guess that explains the namesake) and shows up as a 67.4MB .35 file called "Vortex-1-0-16-12-1541496166.35". And no, I don't have the money to go premium so I'm doing this for naught. I'm also using Internet Explorer if that helps, Version 11.0.9600.18538 - update version 11.0.38. And before you pick up your pitchforks, I WILL get chrome at some point. You ever watch the scene in Fullmetal Allchemist when Ed and Al try to resurrect their mum? Like that, but Vortex. If you've gotten this far, a .35 file is Windows' way of telling you it has no clue what it's looking at and recommends perhaps WMP or Paint to open the file if you don't wish t peruse the store in search of a relevant program. Picture an overweight, sweaty man in a blue shirt and cargo pants with a fanny pack full of adapters and keyboard keys that tend to go missing, whose keyboard on the backseat of his self-employed utility vehicle has more seasoning in it than Dorito's supply line scratching his head with his lanyard full of keys at a big unidentified file in your cabinet going, "Yep. Looks like a code 35 to me. We get this sorta thing all the time, it's no biggie. Have you tried opening it with Paint?" As much faith as I can put in to Paint, I'm not too sure how well it can manage my mods, of which I am just getting in to. I have no experience in this and, quite frankly, it's a little disheartening. I found some thread that mentioned making changes to the .ini file. I know about the .ini file enough to know where it is and not what everything in it does specifically (what does LOD mean??). I had to change it when Skyrim's waters were opaque. It was like swimming through old mustard. I want to make a note that this file could be a piece of a step that I have completely disregarded which means this rant/query means diddly squat and sounds a darn tootin' like this ragtail knows how to make a scene out of silverware. If this is so, please by all means guide me toward the best, most recommended step-by-step guide to dealiong with this utter monstrosity I just hope this isn't one of those forums where this is deleted for being too similar to a post that won't show up in the search bar for the simple reason of not meeting the appropriate search terms, or being mixed up with some other issue that has no significance to this post. Make no mistake - I've scoured the globe in search of someone with this exact problem and nothing seems to mention this. No mention of a .35 file anywhere in any step or issue, nobody with 8.1 wanting to use Vortex (which, honestly, the whole thing reminds me of a smaller company being taken over by a giant corporation run by sales reps that think Vortex is a name you're supposed to hear dreamily in the wind of a Noir film and sounds way better and more peppy than Nexus Mod Manager). Tl;dr Vortex downloads as .35, or unidentified, file, and won't open in my computer running Windows 8.1 via Internet Explorer. I've never modded before and have no clue what I'm doing. I need to know what I'm doing If I'm going to do this right. any help would be amazing.
  23. Hello I am dreadfully sorry if this issue has been talked somewhere in FAQ or QA or different post, did not find that tho. As by my understanding Nexus members can't change their user names but they can change their display names. Yet I don't seem to have any means do to that, should I contact someone specific with that question or fill some paperwork  ?
