  1. I got a message today telling me I have an invalid staging file because it is in my game directory. Even though it has been working for a long time, I only got the message today. So I tried to change the directory, but every time Vortex would ask me to give access to a certain file. I did give it every time but it doesn't work and I would get a message telling me Vortex doesn't have access. What I did was reboot my laptop every time, afterwards the file in question would somehow be deleted. After several times, the mods are finally moving. But this time I'm told directories are not writable. I've tried different files in different drivers, it never works. My system is win10. Please help!
  2. When starting up Vortex yesterday for Skyrim VR, it said there was a problem and offered to "fix" it for me. I apparently do not understand Vortex terminology well enough, so I think I made some wrong selections in the process. After trying to get it right and restarting Vortex, I ultimately ended up showing no downloads and no mods in Vortex at all. It appeared to be a directory issue. So I tried to direct Vortex to find the right folders. When I pointed it to the "mods" folder, it informed me that the folder needed to be empty. At a loss, I moved all mods out of the folder, set the directory in Vortex, then moved the mods back into it. So now Vortex is seeing my download history, and it's seeing my mods, but now they all show as "Deactivated." Any help would be very appreciated; I'm not looking forward to starting over. Note: My mods folder is not in the install directory. It's in a separate folder I created: E:\Games\Vortex\SkyrimVR\mods
  3. Is there some kind of follower mod directory where all of their locations in the game are listed? If there isn't one, wouldn't it be a good idea to make one for convenience's sake... especially for modders who wonder if their follower's seats are taken already? It could be on Google Sheets or somewhere else convenient.
  4. As the title says, papyrus has a weird directory that is making my scripts unable to compile. I'm relatively new to scripting, but I'm pretty certain my issue involves where papyrus/creation kit is trying to pull my scripts from. That being said, here is what shows up in the creation kit when I try to compile this basic script (attached to an activator) to activate a light on and off using an xmarker: Scriptname X00LanternToggleArmor1 extends ObjectReference ObjectReference Property x00LanternLightMarkerArmor Auto Event OnActivate(ObjectReference akActionRef)If (x00LanternLightMarkerArmor.IsEnabled0)x00LanternLightMarkerArmor.disable0Elsex00LanternLightMarkerArmor.enable0EndIfEndEvent Papyrus Compiler Version 2.8.0.4 for Fallout 4Copyright © ZeniMax Media. 5. So I tried posting this on steam forums and got 0 help so maybe you guys can do better, the problem has not changed so I'm just going to copy and paste what the text was. When I click to change the model of an object(keep in mind I am using ONLY vanilla object models, nothing new is added) it goes to the skyrim data directory but there is no .NIF files there. Even pasting the name of the original model into the file bar gives the error. I do not know what happened, I have uninstalled and reinstalled creation kit and this perstists. What SHOULD happen is something like this video: https://youtube.com/watch?v=h13b7vGVXtA#t=22m10s it is at 22:10 around when he changes the model. What DOES happen is this: http://imgur.com/vYylozN This is an example of the error I get when doing the exact same actions as the person in the video. What I think might have happened is that I mistyped the model name the first time and the file menu (instead of defaulting to the place where there are all the .NIF files) shot me back to "my documents". I am no longer able to navigate back to that original "folder" that contains the .NIF files, I believe that it is a single file "meshes.bsa". I saw a solution of unpacking meshes.bsa, but that sounds a bit ridiculous just to change the model of one vanilla item to another. I haven't tried it on a different computer but I might have to as this is really impeding my progress. Thanks for any help
  6. I've installed what I would guess to be around 100 mods, and, as you might guess, I've gotten to the point that my game is about as stable as the middle east. I crash constantly while outside, my performance is atrocious, and parts of my game are just broken. Rather than try and untangle the knot of things I have installed, I thought that I would make a fresh install on my computer. However, I still enjoy playing my modded game, and all my save games rely on mods I have, so I don't want to uninstall the modded version. Would it be at all possible for me to simultaneously have a modded and vanilla game installed on my system? When I run the CD installer, it just asks me if I want to uninstall Oblivion- which I obviously do not want to do. TL;DR: Anybody know if I could have two Oblivion installs on my computer at the same time? Thanks a lot for any help.
  7. I achieved a pretty good performance with 200+ mods, but a few days ago I changed skyrims.ini directory and the performance gone to sh.... :( I just followed this guide to change my default documents directory, i think is the source of the problem, but i reversed and the game still have bad performance... https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/310147 Please help me.... :(
  8. Just wondering what these two files are as they appeared in the NMM installation menu. Is it recommended to move them to anopther file location as I'd I'd like to keep all my modding stuff in one place. Thanks
  9. Hello I recently moved Skyrim to my SSD as I heard it helps with loading times. However, when trying to open NMM, it cannot locate skyrim.esm and fails to open. NMM is installed on my HDD, which is what is causing the problem. Is there a way to keep Skyrim on the SSD and mod it with NMM or will I have to either mod things manually (and keep on the SSD), or move it back onto the HDD (and be able to use NMM) In short, does NMM have to be on the same drive as the game you are trying to mod? Thanks
  10. Hey guys , I need help for setup of NMM when i start the program he wants i chose two folders .. One for Directory and another for Install info but when i choose the two folders and i click on finish he say " unable to acces " for every folders i choose so pls help !!
  11. I can't get Patchus Maximus to work in MO. I used all the java arguments, ran the 32 bit MO version of Patchus Maximus (the debug with more heapspace one), but the jar file won't recognize mods. It only claims to recognize Skyrim.esm and one other. When I run the jar by itself without using debug it works and does recognize all 212 or so mods, but it later crashes due to not enough heapspace. How can I solve this issue? Thanks.
  12. It won't load the sound. No matter what. I've tried putting it under data/sound/music , I've tried data/sound/FX and data/sound/FX/custom , I've tried having the WAV at all different frequencies available to me, I've tried different shorter and longer versions of the file, I tried reinstalling the Creation Kit! NOTHING WILL GET IT TO WORK! I ALWAYS get "File error: Invalid directory". Also, I can create normal sounds just fine, but I can't even use the sounds used for normal sounds in a music track, so something must be messed up here! Someone please help me!
  13. Okay so I kinda f*d my Oblivion game up with mods, so I did a clean uninstall and removed everything related to Oblivion on my pc and did a Re-install of the game, now that I am trying to install "OBMM" i get the message stating it needs to be installed where my Oblivion game is installed (obviously i know this) HOWEVER. When i select the folder where Oblivion is installed (same folder as the .exe file and launcher is) it gives me the same message again, like it does not see my oblivion game. I tried reinstalling several times and nothing changes, it is really frustrating. Any help? Im on Windows 7 and i have installed oblivion to "C:\Games\Oblivion" *Fixed the issue: What i did was delete some filepath names, appearantly it would automatically add on 2 new folder entries to the path, even though i clicked on the oblivion folder only. So i just deleted them and then kept trying to install, worked after deleting "\oblivion2\newfolder" ...
  14. I have been unable to change the mods directory for the Witcher 2, by default it is the UserContent folder located in My Documents\Witcher2\. I would really like to change it to the CookedPC folder in my steamapps/common/witcher2 directory so I can use NMM to manage CookedPC mods as it is easy enough to manage the UserContent (REDkit) ones manually. Every time I change the directory under the 'gears' settings it resets to the UserContent folder as soon as I close the window. Restarting NMM doesn't help either and I have tried both a hundred times with no luck. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
  15. Hello there Nexus, I am having trouble getting ASIS to work. I am using MO. When I try to run ASIS through MO, a command prompt comes up, saying: The system cannot find the path specified. Press any key to continue... And it closes when I do. I have tried to reinstall ASIS, updating it, and throwing it into both the MO directory and Skyrim data directory, with both yielding the same result. What do I do? Thanks. 16. Hey everyone, I had a fairly simple question. Is it okay to have Skyrim on one hard drive, but the Skyrim .INI file on a seperate SSD? Will this cause issues? For more Information: I have my steam install all my games into an E: drive (HDD) and then when generating my .INI file, it puts it in my C: drive (SSD), which I guess I'm okay with, I just want to make sure it will still work fine when installing mods and adjusting values in the INI.

  18. God damn it. So it happens I've built possibly my best mod setup up to date, and I'm having a lot of fun - but there's the one last thing that's in the vanilla state needing a replacement, and that is the combat music. Alright, we get it, so just open the Fallout4 - Sounds.ba2 with the Bethesda Archive Extractor, find the combat songs, xwm to mp3 so to know what I'm replacing, then mp3 to xwm my own songs ready for replacement.. but then I realize there's a problem, namely the only folder that's true to B.A.E's directory path structure's is the Music/Special, and there are no other, not even hidden files. So my request is, if anyone has replaced the sounds before, could You please show me around and point me where to go? I've already prepared my replacement files, all I need to do at this point is to find, and overwrite the original "MUS_Combat_01.xwm"s and all its variants.
  19. Hi all, First time poster, although i have spent the last 24-48 hours trying to find answers to my questions on here and i'm probably missing something really simple. N.B. I do have Skyrim and MODs are working on that with NMM????? There are so many different posts regarding installation of the MODs and i've tried a few different ways but nothing seems to work. Had originally installed Witcher 2 and NMM to the Program Files (x86) folder, however re-installed to C:/Games as a precaution. What's confusing is the number of folders i have linked to Witcher 2:- C:/Games/Witcher 2 - Installation Folder Z:/user/My Documents/Witcher 2 C:/Games/Nexus Mod Manager/ Witcher 2 - Seems to be storage for NMM downloads I have tried installing the MODs using NMM, download goes well, the show to be enabled in the MODs window, however when i launch the userContent Manager nothing appears in the list. When i check the settings in Nexus the MODs directory points to a UserContent folder in the My Documents/Witcher 2 folder. I can see the mods in the folder so i know they're being installed, just not sure if it;s the right location. I have tried amending the directory so it points at the CookedPC folder assuming that's the right location however it doesn't save the change and reverts back as soon as i leave the settings window. I have tried installing MODs manually, still no dice. I'm happy to do it manually but i have 2 problems:- 1. Not sure what the correct location is...... 2. I have 2 of the same file name that i want to use, how do I make these two MODs work together? Both files are replacement base_scripts.dzip. One is 'Extra Talents per Lv' the other is 'Modified Scripts 648....' (gives all level 1 training skills). Can someone explain exactly how to configure NMM to work properly with Witcher 2 or explain how to manually install them and combine multiple mods of the same file name? Running on Windows 8 with Enhanced Edition of Witcher 2. Please help, I don't want to start a game until i've been able to sort out the mods. Feel i'd be missing out on all the great work done by the community. Any advice or suggestions are greatly appreciated.
  20. Hi, Where are the TESV game save file?
  21. Hello All, I am having trouble moving the mod directory for NMM for Skyrim. Currently, all mod files are being saved to the desktop. I opened the settings and changed the directory and restarted the application. It went back to the desktop. I reinstalled the application and made sure to change it on intitial set up, yet it still went back to the desktop. Any advice? I am using version 0.446 on windows 7. Thanks, CP PS. Sorry this is in the wrong forum. I will post in bug reporting.
  22. I moved my saturated vortex folder from my appdata roaming folder to my general disk as it was too low in space, however, I'm having issue configuring the mod staging directory and downloads directory. Probably because: A) I have no idea what I'm doing and I'm retarded B) I most likely did f*#@ up my vortex data, rendering it useless C) I'm doing things correctly, it just doesn't work It give me errors like "Invalid paths" and "This directory needs to be empty", I just want to load my FO4 mods in a different location from my local disk The staging directory I'm trying to configure: G:\Vortex Roaming\Vortex\{GAME} The downloads directory I'm trying to configure: G:\Vortex Roaming\Vortex\downloads
