  1. Whether it's Vortex or the mods I installed, it's making my desktop background turn black when hovering over the icons and completely black when I refresh the screen then, after a while, it does the reverse. The last game I installed and used mods on was Skryim AE, the latest Steam version. I noticed an issue with the game as well: the dialogue would cut out randomly as if pressing Tab or something to stop it. When engaging back into the conversation, NPC, both vanilla and modded, behaved as though they had already finished speaking to me earlier. For instance, when talking about a quest, it's accepted despite the dialogue cutting off before I even selected an option to accept or reject the game. Both started happening around the same time so there's a small chance of it being a coincidence. I've already done a reinstall of the game and the mods and the issue returned. Previously the taskbar and Windows Explorer would be unresponsive to mouse clicks, though the browser had no issue with it. After the reinstall, only the desktop wallpaper and the dialogue issue in the game remain. Granted, I did not delete the mod files previously, just uninstalled them and then reinstalled them in the new game. Would a complete reinstall of both the game and mods resolve this? I've already scanned the whole PC for viruses or any sort of errors and did a memory test and defragment and other things I've been recommended to do with this issue. Would a complete reinstall/redownload of both game and mods fix this or is there something I can do to fix it? When I booted up the PC today, the issue happened briefly before I even opened the game or Vortex then it went away. Now it seemed all fine until I opened Vortex and the icon thing popped up. In game, I can reload an earlier save and have the conversation normally but it gets tedious, especially when talking to followers to trade items for instance.
  3. Hey guys, I already searched the Forum for a similar problem but it seems like I'm the only one. My problem: Since a few days the weapon switch animation is bugged. Whenever I change from one weapon type to another, the arms go back to the stance of the previous weapon (switching from bow to 2h sword -> holds Sword like the bow). This only occurs while running, other movement animations are not affected. Like I stated in the title I'm not using FNIS or other animation mods. I even did a clean install of Skyrim without any mods and started a fresh save game. The bug still persists. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance, Steparu

I recently reinstalled Fallout 4, and now I'm geeting weird, random texture glitches where particular textures display wrong at either an angle, when moving further away, or both. and a reboot of fallout solves the issue for that specific texture, but somewhere another texture is always effected. what could be causing this?
  5. I am loading all the textures for this object into the directories so it appears textured when I edit it. However, one texture file is damaged.http://i637.photobucket.com/albums/uu100/zrowngctr/Fallout/Fallout4/NS/PrbTxtr01_zpsfydeuxzl.png It's meant to be on the railing supports, but it does not load.Each time I have tried to edit it, the correct program rejects it.Viewing it via the default viewer just shows it in some unusual lilac color.And it's not just this texture file, there is at least one other, maybe 2 or 3 more that are broken like this. How do I obtain the functional unbroken file?
  6. So I haven't done a play through where I used heavy armor in a while, and the other day I decided to give it a try again. I've been getting killed really easily a lot. At first I thought I just wasn't used to upfront 2H combat, but then I upgraded my armor to orcish and found myself still dying just as fast. I pulled up the console and got my characters actor value for armor to check if it was applying correctly and it was. So I decided to check if maybe I was just behind on AR for my level and made a save to revert to after using console commands to bump my AR a bit. I took it up like 50 points, still died fast, 100 points still died fast, 250 points still died fast, 10 million points and I still died fast. Something is seriously broken. Does anyone know if there are any mods that make AR ineffective? I'll post my plugins list as well.   7. Hi everyone. I have a problem with mounted combat. My problem is that I can draw my weapons but a can't swing my sword at all or draw my bow and arrow. He just sits there with the weapon in his hand. I really really don't know what to do. Even running the FNIS tool doesn't fix it. Please please please could someone help me with this. :C Any help would be much appreciated.

While is was retaking the castle, the mission bugged out and had to use console commands to progress it (all AI at the Castle were still under attack from an either an unknown entity or a BoS vertibird barely within the visible range of the Castle). Rather than getting the Preston will no longer follow problem, i got the much worse opposite. For about 2 hours after, Preston would follow me regardless of me having another companion or telling him to go home. After i got fed up with him for ruining any opportunity for stealth, i disabled him. Which is where i dun goofed. I completed Old Guns without him and I can console command the radiant quests but the problem I have come up with is that regardless of him being enabled or disabled, he counts for my population at Sanctuary Hills. Which is not too much of a problem but I think he has actually bugged out and is haunting the area and wont allow new settlers to arrive (unless I send them from other settlements), but this includes legendary vendors as well. I have enabled him and just to wail on him for the trouble he is and I end up almost killing Sturges who is behind him. Turns out he is an actual ghost now and I cant even hit him. He is a solid person when i try to walk through him but bullets, lasers, etc. just phase through him. I cant affect him with C.U.T.E. Rudeness perk or Explosive Venting from power armor either. I cant speak with him, but everytime i get close enough he will ask if i have a minute for his maximum affection speech but it wont happen. If i do interact with him he will just repeat phrases but never enter dialogue. He also doesnt really walk around, he just sorta teleports. Quest markers also dont point to him, they float in the air in the middle of Sanctuary. TL;DR Spooky ghost Preston is ruining my Sanctuary and is somehow being even less useful then before. So I ask, what can I possibly do to remedy this?
  10. Issue with ENB skyHi. I'm using quite a few mods (NMM counts close to 40) and an ENB. I've experimented a lot with which one suits my game best, and I eventually chose Rudy ENB (http://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/55076/?tab=1&navtag=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.nexusmods.com%2Fnewvegas%2Fajax%2Fmoddescription%2F%3Fid%3D55076%26preview%3D&pUp=1) I've never had any long term problems with any ENB I've tried in the past. When using the "Wait" function in-game, the timescale in the backround changes. The sky turns into an odd greyish-blue colour, even when it's broad daylight. At night, the ground becomes lit like it's daytime. It only appears with the ENB enabled. As far as I can tell, nothing abnormal happens in interiors, however. I was told elsewhere that ILO might be causing it, but I completely got rid of it and it didn't change anything. I would really like to wrap this issue of mine up so I can enjoy New Vegas as it was meant to be, with ENB!!!
  11. So I managed to die in a dungeon, with the only save point being the auto-save (how convenient). Turns out the auto save was made when I was sneaking, so now my character is stuck in the crouching position without the benefits of sneaking. This means I'm stuck in this slow and uncomfortable movement and can't even sprint. I know that to fix this I need to interact with an object like a chair or workbench (etc.), but there aren't really any objects like this in the dungeon... What sucks even more is that I made a character based on engaging with sneak attacks, so I'm about to get mauled by the boss. This is so inconvenient... :sad:
  12. Hello. I'm currently trying to get NVR3 working properly....everything seems normal except for people's eyes!!! It's like they are all ashamed of me; looking as far to the right as possible....it's really annoying and I would really like to fix this. Turning off archive invalidation in the nexus mod manager seems to fix the problem but then that ruins other mods*. I tried downloading a few different archive invalidation .bsa files along with altering .ini files as I was prompted but nothing seems to be working. I could really use some advice here. Thanks. Additional information that may help you, help me: I'm using NMM. I installed FCO first using NMM then installed NVR3 manually. When I remove FCO the eyes will fix themselves but it seems some textures go missing i.e. Sunny Smiles will be a giant exclamation point. *Mainly UI controlled mods
  13. Hello all! Sorry to bother you guys, but i'm having a very weird bug occuring in my game. Radio beacons and the Radio transmitter in the castle don't work. My settlements are kinda bugged, i can't assign any settler to do anything, when i try to assign them to anything, they just don't. Got vault-tec, moved him to sanctuary, i tell him he can work for me, when i select the settlement he can work , i select one, but then a few seconds after that he says "are you yanking my chain again" or something like that and doesn't work anymore. BUT, my main problem is that the radio beacons and radio transmitters stopped working. You see, there aare a few minutemen quests where you clear up settlements and build radio beacons to attract settlers. I build them, power em up , but when i click on them and i try to select activate, i just hear that "bob" sound when you click an object, but nothign activates, quest doesnt update, and i'm stuck. This is happening aswell with the Radio Transmitter in the Castle. I build like 5 generators (large ones), wired them all in every combination, attached them to the tower aswell as the radio transmitter, but nothing works. ANd even if i use 1000 Power from generators mod, my power in the settlement while in workshop mode is still Red, meaning i lack sufficient power for the settlement. WTF is happening?
  14. I recently purchased the Game of the Year Edition for PC and am moving over from console. I am dealing with an incredibly frustrating bug right now. Dead Money simply will not work. At first I believed this to be due to some of the mods I was running (FOOK AWOP and Project Brail were the biggest ones). First, I tried turning off the mods. Did not work. Next, I tried reinstalling. Did not work. Then I completely purged all of the mods and reinstalled (three times plus a game cash verification). The game acknowledges that Dead Money exists and has been downloaded, but once actually playing, no radio message, no quest, no pop up, nothing. I know some people have also dealt with this bug.   15. Ok. So I've searched this up on google quite a bit and can't find anything to solve the issue. Problem is that I have an essential who is completely trapped behind a barrier. He's essential to a quest and so I tcl'ed to talk to him and he told me to rendevous to some location. But he never shows and always stays behind that door with the force field. He can't move. I tried getting his ref ID and Base ID. I used prid [iD] then moveto player. Nothing is working so far. tl;dr How do I move someone from a bugged location to a non bugged location where they aren't trapped? if it helps in the geck he is non killable

  17. I use CBBE and KellogFrostedFlakes' Improved Skin Texture V. 2.1 - Darker Veins.. and any hand texture i use this happens.. Anyone know of a fix for this ? With default FO4 hand textures it looks OKish, but theres a gigantic gap at the wrist... https://i.imgur.com/ZWhxkRc.jpeg

Unsure if it fits here but, for whatever reason my illusion spells simply ceased functioning for one reason or another, I can cast them, and the cost is still applied properly, but when they hit an NPC they only last for at max about half a second before fizzling out. I AM playing heavily modded so I can figure that would largely be the problem but I don't know which mod would be breaking the spells this badly. Any ideas or help would be appreciated.

  20. I have a Dawnguard DLC and when I approached the Hall there was only one deadhound lying on a ground and textures of the Hall were flashy AF. It looked like 2 textures were trying to load at once. Also, I cannot enter the hall. The door is not even showing the "E" for enter.   21. As I noted in general discussion of FO4 since it's about as vanilla as it gets, the decrepit "cherry" t-45 atop the Museum of Freedom is bugged to Hell and gone. A shotgun wielded by a Raider at 300 feet shouldn't even scratch a power armor. I got instakilled. There were no companions behind me, and the armor hadn't even taken a scratch... not even from the Deathclaw. I don't care if this gets fixed by a specific mod or the Unofficial Fallout 4 Patch getting an update, enough is enough already. This is ludicrous.
  22. Okay, here's my issue: I'm at the point of the quest "The Fallen" where I have to speak to the Jarl of Whiterun (Jarl Balgruuf in my case), so I can trap the dragon. However, once the task to speak to him is initiated, the first of my problems comes up: the quest marker leading to Jarl Balgruuf does not show up. It's as if the quest will not even detect him as an NPC. At first, I figured that was just some minor bug, so I shrugged it off and decided to fast travel to Dragonsreach to speak to him anyways. That's when the second problem happened. Whenever I pressed "E" to talk to him, it would not show a dialogue box about the quest or anything. All that happened when I pressed it was simply saying "Yes?", "Watch the skies", or other basic NPC stuff. Because of that, I am unable to progress any further in the quest. I've tried restarting the game, and creating new characters to start a speed test playthrough, but the same exact problem persists. I've played through the main quest several times already and this NEVER happened. I own Special Edition, and yes, I do have a slightly heavily modded game. About 180 active mods, but very little change NPC's. I believe maybe one of my mods may be the problem so if I have to give my list away please tell me to do so. Disclaimer: Please do not give me the "easy way out" of uninstalling/reinstalling the game. I've had major issues with the game on the past, and I never had to do such a thing. What should I do?

Posted this on reddit but either nobody read it, or cared enough to respond: I was using Localized Thieves Guild Jobs (Non update version) for Whiterun, everything went smoothly got the special job, went to solitude (This was before becoming a nightingale), I have then done jobs in Solitude (Also ones that i had to complete under 24/48 hours) until I had 9 jobs completed. No special jobs. I didnt know what to do so I started it console commands and completed it. Went to windhelm, 9 jobs later, nothing. I was so f***ing tired of just constantly doing console commands that I tried the "patched version" or updated or whatever the hell the author calls it. Now every single damn time I go to Delvin I can say that I have completed the special jobs in Solitude and Whiterun. I thought that maybe uninstalling the mod would help but nope, it made it worse. Now I cant even complete a job. I go to Delvin/Vex, they say "Here is your coin" and I dont get nothing! And when I want to start a new one it doesn't, the old one doesnt complete itself. Is there any way I can fix this? Much thanks. Change some parameters in skyrim, bloody hell i will gladly learn to code or to work in creation kit to fix this s*** EDIT: Also before anyone asks: I am using both nexus and steam workshop, I am using LOOT and it doesn't show any problems there, I am launching my game through SKSE. Only way I can finish a job is setstage [quest ID] 200, other ways did not work for now (Tried talking to quit, didn't quit, after which i could start another job > 2 jobs were active at the same time from the same person)

So, I recently got back into playing Skyrim again and noticed that my water is transparent I have no idea how to fix this, I've tried reinstalling and deleting the game, I've installed ENBSeries and mods, but none of these have worked.   25. Hey so this is my first post here and it's after making my first mod. I followed this Youtube video here: The follower is there in game and all is good except for their head. Part of their hair is see-through in certain lighting and the eyes, just look wrong. This is what the follower was based on.
