Peer Supporter Training

Our 8-week peer support specialist training—which was designed according to national standards and includes over 80 hours of live webinars, self-paced modules, and peer-to-peer practice—teaches people who have experience with mental health struggles and are now in recovery how to best support teens and young adults experiencing similar challenges.

Our training meets national and state standards

Our training curriculum covers the skills and strategies laid out by SAMHSA in their national model for peer support specialist certification, including techniques for active listening and selective sharing of lived experience to provide a model for hope, exploring strengths and setting goals, as well as de-escalating crisis and conflicts.

We are also a certified Medi-Cal Peer Support Specialist training provider in California, as certified by CalMHSA.
