Players will have to wait a little longer to see the end for PlayStation’s most famous thief.

Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End has been delayed to a spring 2016 release, according to the game’s directors. Bruce Straley and Neil Druckmann provided an update about the game’s development on the PlayStation Blog, explaing that it will take a few more months to finish production on the game. The game was originally expected to hit sometime at the end of 2015.

Uncharted 4 was first revealed at last year’s E3 Sony press conference, and the first gameplay from the title was shown off during December’s PlayStation Experience event in Las Vegas.

The last game in the franchise, Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception, debuted in 2011. Since then, Naughty Dog has produced The Last of Us for the PlayStation 3 (and its remastered version for the PlayStation 4).

Straley and Druckmann do also reiterate that A Thief’s End is intended to be the end of protagonist Nathan Drake’s story, and the studio likely wants to ensure that one of its most well-received franchises goes out on a high note.

This delay does leave the fall wide open for PS4 releases, however, so expect more information on what Sony has planned for the second half of 2015 at this year’s E3.
