We are seeking a VP, Head of Data Engagement - UK and Continental Europe to join our team in the Continental Europe or UK office. The head of BDS - GM will lead a team of BI developers to deliver Management Inforation to Business Users, supporting both Global Markets and Continental Europe. This person will support business priorities and providing accurate and timely data. He/she will lead the delivery of reports as well as support Data Governance framework.

The purpose of this role is to work within Business Data Management Team to deliver MI to the business users as well monitor and improve data within our core systems. Delivering accurate, credible and relevant data related information for management and Data Governance Executive Committee. Helping with all Data Quality relatedelping with allH initiatives to ensure the accuracy and consistency of internally and externally reported information. This role will report to SVP, Head of Business Data Management & Quality.


Responsibilities include:

  • Lead MI engagements with business users
  • Play a senior role in Global Markets reporting user-engagement – and serve as a liaison between business, IT and OPS
  • Identify data issues, risks and opportunities by regularly communicating with business function and working closely with Operations and Information Tecnology teams.
  • Record, assess, prioritise and report data issues.
  • Collaboration with Information Technology partners to implement Data Strategy for quality improvement and or remediation.
  • With an inquisitive mind, perform complex data analysis; identify and determine root cause for data quality items impacting the business; recommends solutions and strategies in line with the data governance.
  • Help to develop, maintain and revise detective and preventive controls and provide reports showing the health of data
  • Execute projects in alignment with project plans, including updating project plans as needed.
  • Displays strong communication and interpersonal ability across all levels coupled with effective problem solving, conceptual thinking, quantitative and analytical skills.

Desired Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in an analytical field such as Statistics, Computer Science, Maths, Accounting, or Finance.
  • 10 + years on Insurance background
  • Ability to lead engagements with the business without supervision.
  • Experience supporting C-level executives in their data needs.
  • Ability to lead by hands on approach
  • Experience in Project Management and working independently
  • Strong technical expertise using data analytics and visualization tools such as Excel, SharePoint, SQL . Expert knowdlge of MS Power BI and Miscrostrategy; Cognos is a plus.
  • Experience producing ad-hoc analysis and reports based on high-level requirements while working closely with clients to refine criteria based on iterative results.
  • Previous experience using Collibra is a big plus
  • Strong written and verbal communication, presentation and technical writing skills.
