Verdalia Bioenergy acquisisce 4 progetti per la costruzione e gestione di impianti di produzione biometano nel nord Italia L’operazione si inserisce nel percorso di espansione di Verdalia in Italia e permette alla società di contribuire attivamente al piano di decarbonizzazione e indipendenza energetica del Paese.   Milano, 30 luglio 2024 - Verdalia Bioenergy (“Verdalia”), società europea di biometano supportata dal business infrastrutturale di Goldman Sachs Asset Management, ha raggiunto un accordo per l’acquisizione di 4 progetti per la costruzione e gestione di impianti per la produzione di biometano in Piemonte e Friuli-Venezia Giulia (il “portafoglio”) da Healthy Business Advisory, S.r.l. (“HBA”). Dopo la recente acquisizione di sette impianti già operativi e situati nella provincia di Brescia, quest’ulteriore aggiunta alla piattaforma rafforza la presenza di Verdalia in Italia e posiziona l’azienda come uno dei leader nel settore del biometano nel Paese, fondata su un modello di business infrastrutturale. Il portafoglio è costituito da 4 progetti che beneficeranno del programma di incentivi stabilito dal DM 15 settembre 2022, con una capacità produttiva complessiva di circa 230 GWh/anno di biometano derivante dal trattamento di 262.000 tonnellate all’anno di biomasse di origine animale e vegetale. Il portafoglio ambisce ad eliminare circa 53.000 tonnellate di emissioni di gas serra (CO2) all’anno. Quanto agli impianti, si stima che uno entrerà in esercizio durante l’ultimo trimestre del 2025 e gli altri durante il secondo trimestre del 2026. L'operazione è stata realizzata in partnership con Healthy Business Advisory, S.r.l., sviluppatore di impianti di biometano con esperienza nel settore delle energie rinnovabili in Italia, che continuerà a supportare Verdalia nello sviluppo dei progetti fino allo stato di ready-to-build. Matteo Grandi, Country Manager di Verdalia Bionergy in Italia, ha affermato: “L’Italia può avere un ruolo da leader in Europa nel programma di decarbonizzazione tramite il biometano. Siamo molto felici di questo ulteriore traguardo perché ci permette di co-sviluppare i progetti e diversificare la nostra piattaforma italiana, valorizzando il nostro know-how e dando al tempo stesso il nostro contributo alla transizione energetica del Paese”. Lanciata a febbraio 2023 con l’obiettivo di investire, entro il 2026, almeno 1 miliardo di euro nello sviluppo, acquisizione e gestione degli impianti di produzione di biometano in Europa, Verdalia Bioenergy ha fatto significativi progressi in Italia, diventando uno degli operatori leader nel campo degli impianti di biometano agricolo. Ad oggi conta su un team di oltre 60 persone, un portafoglio di impianti operativi in Italia e una pipeline di progetti di sviluppo in fase mid-to-late-stage in Spagna e in Italia con un volume di oltre 2,5 TWh di biometano all’anno.

Verdalia Bioenergy to acquire 4 projects to develop and operate biomethane plants in Northern Italy The deal is part of Verdalia’s development path in Italy and allows the company to actively contribute to the country’s decarbonisation and energy independence agenda.   Milan, July 30, 2024 – Verdalia Bioenergy, a European biomethane company backed by the infrastructure business of Goldman Sachs Asset Management, has reached an agreement to acquire a portfolio of 4 projects (the “portfolio”) to develop and operate biomethane plants in Piedmont and Friuli-Venezia Giulia from Healthy Business Advisory, S.r.l. (“HBA”). Following the recent acquisition of the seven already operating plants located in the province of Brescia, this further addition to the platform strengthens Verdalia's presence in Italy and positions the company as one of the leaders in the country's biomethane sector, with an infrastructure business model. The portfolio consists of four projects, which will benefit from the incentive program established by the Ministerial Decree of September 15, 2022, with an approximate combined production capacity of 230 GWh of biomethane derived from a processing capacity of 262,000 tonnes of animal and plant biomass per year. The portfolio aims to avoid approximately 53,000 tonnes of greenhouse gas emissions per year. One of the plants is expected to start operating in the last quarter of 2025, while the others are expected to start operating in the second quarter of 2026. The operation was undertaken in partnership with Healthy Business Advisory, S.r.l., a biomethane plant developer with experience in the renewable energy sector in Italy, which will continue to support Verdalia in project development up to ready-to-build status. Matteo Grandi, Verdalia Bionergy’s Country Manager in Italy, said: “Italy can have a leading role in Europe’s decarbonization agenda through biomethane. We’re very pleased of this latest milestone as it allows us to co-develop projects and diversify our Italian platform, enhancing our know-how while contributing to the country's energy transition efforts”. Launched in February 2023 with the aim of investing by 2026 in excess of €1 billion to develop, acquire, own and operate biomethane plants across Europe, Verdalia Bioenergy has made significant progress in Italy, becoming one of the largest operators of agricultural biomethane plants.  Verdalia counts on a team of over 60 people today and a portfolio of the seven already operating plants in Italy and a pipeline of mid- to late-stage development projects in Spain and Italy in excess of 2.5 TWh.
