Carl-Gustaf Hallberg Jahnsson (1935 – 1994) was a Swedish silversmith and designer.
Biography
Jansson worked for Sigurd Persson from 1952 to 1957, in Vienna from 1957 to 1958, and in France from 1962 to 1963.
In 1963, he opened his silver workshop.
Carl Gustaf Jahnsson has worked as an industrial designer in addition to silversmithing. In his first exhibition in 1966, he displayed church silver and tankards with an unusual flattened form, among other things. He understands how to use concave surfaces to make seemingly mundane surfaces and forms exciting and imaginative.
He created a silver communion chalice for Hornsberg Church and the sculpture The Tree of Life for Linköping Cathedral. He was hired as a designer by Ikea, where he created the Dragon cutlery series and the Rondo service.
