Anshe Chesed Fairmount Temple

Anshe Chesed Fairmount Temple is a Reform Jewish temple in Beachwood, Ohio.[1] This is the oldest existing congregation in Cleveland.[2] The name Anshe Chesed is Hebrew for "People of Loving Kindness".[2]
History
In 1841, the German Orthodox congregation is established and on February 28, 1842, the congregation is chartered.[2]
In 1845, it merges with members from the Israelitic Society of Cleveland.[2]
In 1846, it builds Cleveland's first synagogue; in 1887, it builds its second building; in 1912, it builds its third home.[2]
In May, 1957, the Fairmount Temple, Anshe Chesed's present home, is dedicated.[2]
In 1958, Rabbi Arthur Lelyveld, former national director of B'nai B'rith Hillel Foundation is hired.[2]
