Determining the manufacturer
  • Check the accessory for any manufacturer information. Nintendo-made products will often have the Nintendo logo.
  • Check the product packaging or manuals for any manufacturer names and contact information. If the product packaging states something to the effect of "Made for use with a Nintendo System," it is likely an unlicensed product.
  • If you have a licensed or unlicensed product made by another company, you will need to contact the manufacturer.
Replacing accessories manufactured by Nintendo
  • Physically damaged accessory: Accessories that are physically-damaged are not covered under Nintendo's warranty, and you will need to purchase a replacement. Many accessories can be found in the My Nintendo Store.
  • Accessory came with the system: If the accessory came in the same box as the system, it has a one-year manufacturer's warranty. If your accessory is covered under the system warranty, please contact us to discuss available repair options. If the warranty has expired, you will need to purchase a replacement accessory. Many accessories can be purchased in retail stores, or through the My Nintendo Store.
  • Accessory was purchased separately: If the accessory was sold separately, it has a 90-day manufacturer's warranty. If your accessory is less than 90 days old and you have a dated sales receipt, please contact us to discuss available replacement options. If your accessory is over 90 days old, you will need to purchase a replacement. Many accessories can be purchased in retail stores, or through the My Nintendo Store.
