Note: If you are a child, please have a parent or guardian configure these settings for you.
Complete these steps
- Ensure your system has the latest system update.
- If you have not done so already, select the System Settings icon on the HOME Menu and tap Open.
- Select Parental Controls from the System Settings menu and tap Yes.
- Select Yes, then Next
- Read the information on the screen and then tap OK twice.
- Create a four-digit PIN, and tap OK.
- Enter the PIN a second time and tap OK.
- Select a secret question and tap OK.
- Enter the answer and tap OK.
- Follow the on-screen prompts, then enter an e-mail address. You will be required to enter the email address twice.
- Please ensure it is an email address that only parents or guardians can access.
- It is highly recommended that you register an e-mail for use with parental controls as it will allow you to conveniently acquire a PIN-resetting master key in the event that you forget both your PIN and secret question."
- A confirmation email will be sent to the e-mail you registered. It may take up to an hour to receive this email. If, after an hour, the email hasn't arrived, please check your SPAM folder.
- You will now be able to select which items you'd like to restrict. When restrictions are complete, tap Done to save the settings. Parental controls are now in place.
