Note: Nintendo can only offer repairs for accessories made by Nintendo. For warranty situations, you must be able to provide the defective item and proof of purchase. Please check the warranty text to make sure you qualify for warranty coverage for your product.
Determining the manufacturer
- Check the accessory for any manufacturer information. Nintendo-made products will often have the Nintendo logo.
- Check the product packaging or manuals for any manufacturer names and contact information. If the product packaging states something to the effect of "Made for use with a Nintendo System," it is likely an unlicensed product.
- If you have a licensed or unlicensed product made by another company, you will need to contact the manufacturer.
Replacing accessories manufactured by Nintendo
- Physically damaged accessory: Accessories that are physically-damaged are not covered under Nintendo's warranty, and you will need to purchase a replacement. Many accessories can be found in the My Nintendo Store.
- Accessory came with the system: If the accessory came in the same box as the system, it has a one-year manufacturer's warranty. If your accessory is covered under the system warranty, please contact us to discuss available repair options. If the warranty has expired, you will need to purchase a replacement accessory. Many accessories can be purchased in retail stores, or through the My Nintendo Store.
- Accessory was purchased separately: If the accessory was sold separately, it has a 90-day manufacturer's warranty. If your accessory is less than 90 days old and you have a dated sales receipt, please contact us to discuss available replacement options. If your accessory is over 90 days old, you will need to purchase a replacement. Many accessories can be purchased in retail stores, or through the My Nintendo Store.
