Important: Users must be 13 or older to create a Nintendo Account for themselves. To create a Nintendo Account for a user aged 12 and under, a parent/guardian must first create a Nintendo Account of their own, then create and add a child account to the family group.
Before you start
You will need a PC or a smart device with Internet access.
Complete these steps
- Go to the Nintendo Account website (accounts.nintendo.com).
- Select Create a Nintendo Account in the upper-right or towards the bottom of the page.
- Enter your date of birth and click Submit.
-
Message: Please have your parent or guardian do the next step.
Important: Users aged 12 and under cannot create a Nintendo Account on their own. Child accounts can only be created within an existing Nintendo Account by a parent/guardian who is 18 and older.
- After submitting your date of birth, you will be redirected to a page requesting your parent/guardian’s email address.
- Have your parent/guardian enter their email address into the appropriate field and click Submit.
- An email will be sent to the parent/guardian’s email address that explains how to set up their own Nintendo Account.
- Once they have created their Nintendo Account, they can then create an account for you by adding you to their Nintendo Account family group.
-
Message: Please have your parent or guardian do the next step.
- Choose how to create your Nintendo Account — by entering your information or by using an existing Google account or Apple ID.
- If you are creating a Nintendo Account through a Nintendo mobile app on an iOS device (such as an iPhone or iPad), you will not be able to create it using a Google account or Apple ID. You can still link those accounts later after creating your Nintendo Account.
