  Pros

  I get many video files in all possible formats, and they're in all different formats, and often huge. After converting them to .mp4 with Handbrake, they end up much smaller (sometimes reduced to 25% of the original size) with hardly any degradation in video quality, and no perceptable degradation of audio. This is the only thing I need Handbrake for, but for that, it's the best, easiest and fastest app I've found, and enormously useful.

  Cons

  None, really, at least for my use. If you use it only with its default settings - whether you don't need or don't understand what the other options are - it's already very good, which makes it very easy to use even for unsophisticated non-techies, which most users are.

  Pros

  I'm converting my movies to store in my IMac, as I'm tired of replacing discs, over and over again. It doesn't take terribly long, is quite easy to use, after instruction, and I feel terribly guilty that, up to now; it's free!

  Cons

  The only problem I have is that my foreign films that are sub-titled, are not recorded that way. I'm sure that it's "operator-error", but I still need help, apparently.

  An indispensible application for those blitzed with a plethora of media formats. The destination spec options in this version are much better than the ancient version I had.

  Not the easiest piece of software to understand.

  I couldn't view WMV files on my new tablet ( Android ). A friend told me that it was a Hardware Codec vs a Software Codec issue and I just needed to change the Codec. It did it, but it ended up converting it to an MP4 file, which ran just fine on my tablet. End result was what I was looking for.
