Taylor Swift

Taylor Swift is one of the most successful singer-songwriters in music history. She holds the title for most Grammy Record of the Year wins, with four. Swift's albums have charted at No. 1 more times than those of Elvis Presley (and most everyone else). Only the Beatles have been at No. 1 more times on Billboard’s flagship album chart.

Her Eras Tour grossed $700 million in ticket sales in 53 U.S. stops and contributed an estimated $4.3 billion to the country’s gross domestic product, per Bloomberg. On the back of that success, her Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour film became the most successful concert film of all time. As of 2023, she was a billionaire, with a net worth of $1.1 billion.

Swift got her start in Nashville when she was barely a teenager. At 15, she moved to Big Machine Records for her eponymous debut album, which topped out at No. 5 on the Billboard 200. Her subsequent albums included Fearless in 2008; Speak Now in 2010, which opened atop the Billboard 200; and Red in 2012, which included "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together," her first number one single and the fastest-selling single in digital history.

In 2014, Swift moved to New York and released 1989, which spawned the number one singles "Shake It Off", "Blank Space" and "Bad Blood." Her subsequent album Reputation opened atop the Billboard 200 and spawned the the highest-grossing North American concert tour in history up to that point, as well as an accompanying Netflix concert film.

In 2018, she left Big Machine and signed a new deal with Universal Music Group for her next three albums: Lover, Folklore and Evermore. After a dispute with Big Machine over the masters of her albums under that deal, Swift set out to re-record her first six studio albums, beginning with Fearless (Taylor's Version).

Swift's tenth studio album, Midnights, was released in 2022 and opened atop the Billboard 200 with first-week sales of over one million copies. It broke various sales and streaming records, including the most single-day streams and most single-week streams on Spotify. Swift was 2023's most streamed artist across Spotify, Apple Music and Amazon Music. On the momentum from Midnights and her re-recordings, she became the first living artist to simultaneously chart five albums in the top 10 of the Billboard 200. Her eleventh studio album is The Tortured Poets Department.
