EXCLUSIVE: Veteran CAA television agent Ted Miller is leaving to start a global management business. He just shared the news with his colleagues. Details about his new company will be unveiled at a later date.

The exit ends a 35-year agenting career at CAA for Miller, who started in the mailroom in 1988 before becoming an assistant to agency co-founder Michael Ovitz and getting promoted to agent in 1989.

For decades, there had been a handful of TV lit-driven management companies. Over the last several years, their number more than doubled as a slew of top TV agents launched new management firms. Miller is one of the biggest names yet to make the switch.
