Another reason #euro2024 should be a fun watch – 5G will be involved! Broadcaster RTL Deutschland and Deutsche Telekom are working together to use 5G services via a private 5G network to deliver “data-intensive applications” with the network running in the 3.7GHz to 3.8GHz range and offering up to 100MHz of bandwidth to the broadcaster. Great to see innovation being driven by events in the market to actually test use cases and push barriers rather than there merely being a lot of talk about how great private networks could be. #connectivity #networks #privatenetworks #private5g #investment #innovation #mnos #Germany #2g #3g #4g #5g #business #enterprise #growth #mobile #mobilenetworks #telecoms #telecommunications #technology #stadiums #sport #football https://lnkd.in/e_QH3wPi

Deutsche Telekom is making a strong push for 5G mmWave technology in the industrial sector. The telco has successfully trialled mmWave frequencies for industrial applications and are now actively targeting industrial customers. This is a strategic move for a few reasons: 🔘 Ultra-Fast Speeds & Low Latency: mmWave offers significantly higher speeds and lower latency compared to traditional mid-band 5G, crucial for real-time industrial applications like robotics and automation. 🔘 Enhanced Network Capacity: mmWave can handle a much larger number of devices and data streams, ideal for dense industrial environments with numerous connected machines and sensors. 🔘 Unlocking New Applications: The high bandwidth and low latency of mmWave can enable entirely new industrial applications that wouldn't be possible with traditional 5G. Deutsche Telekom's focus on mmWave for industry is a clear sign of the growing importance of this version of the 5G which has been widely adopted in the USA, Middle East and Asia but has not been adopted in Europe. What are your thoughts on the use of 5G mmWave in industrial settings? Is this the future of industrial connectivity? #5GmmWave #IndustrialIoT #DeutscheTelekom #Telecoms #CCSI #TelecomsInsights

What will the network of the future look like? At the Telekom Campus Fair 2024 we will reimagine the network! Together with nearly 50 partners. 👥 Partnerships are key to building efficient and innovative networks. What makes a great partnership? 1. Clear focus: Whether it's AI, cloud or disaggregation – we need clarity on what we want to achieve together. And then the commitment to walk the talk. 2. Shared values: We need a shared understanding of how to tackle our challenges. At Deutsche Telekom, we put people first. Always. Technology should serve people. Adapting to them. Not the other way round. And not cause harm. This is what I call human-centered technology. And it is what we demand of our partners. To make sure every partnership lives up to this, we've created our Supplier Code of Conduct. 3. Joint efforts: Reducing CO2 emissions is a global challenge that we can only solve together – across the entire value chain. It's vital that our partners are on the same page. And commit to going green. At the exhibition, we will be honoring their contribution. And encourage them and others to keep it up! With the Green Future Best Practice Award. #greentelco After all, collaborating means turning innovative ideas into reality. Spirent Communications's two worth interesting areas: 1. 5G #Monetizing the Enterprise 2. Deutsche Telekom Case Study 1. The performance requirements of potential #5G #enterprise services. It outlines the latency and throughput needed for various applications. Three categories of applications: 🔵Low latency and low throughput: These applications require very fast response times but don't transfer a lot of data. Examples include environment monitoring, predictive maintenance, remote operated equipment, biometric authentication, and RT fraud detection. 🔵Medium latency and medium throughput: These applications require a balance between response time and data transfer. Examples include traffic management and video ingest and analytics. 🔵High throughput: These applications transfer large amounts of data and can tolerate some latency. Examples include AR/VR (virtual) 4-8K and automated guided vehicles. 2, Deutsche Telecom #casestudy about how #DT uses automated continuous testing to improve the efficiency of its 5G network. Key Points: 🔵The Challenge: DT wanted to create a new operating model to deliver the full potential of 5G. This model would use highly automated environments with integrated testing. 🔵The Solution: DT automated its testing process to save time and money. They also implemented a “network digital twin” which is a digital replica of a physical network that can be used to test and troubleshoot problems. 🔵The Results: By automating their testing process, DT was able to: -Reduce costs by 80% over 2 years -Validate 5G Core updates 60% faster -Reduce the resources required for validation by 90% ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- We can help you monetize any new or existing business models: B2C, B2B, B2B2X by providing global market insights of CSP monetization Please reach us out at kanesh@global5Gevolution.com ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Follow us on Kaneshwaran Govindasamy & Global 5G Evolution Click comment box #subscribe our #youtube channel

Expert Insight: OMR, republica GmbH or - since I live in Hamburg - Schlagermove: festival and event season just started! Here's Why You Should Use 5G 🚀 Ever been at a large-scale event where your smartphone becomes slow and nearly unusable due to congested mobile networks? The same issue affects IoT devices, such as payment terminals, which are critical at these events. It’s particularly frustrating when you can't make payments because the mobile networks are overwhelmed. Personally, I’m not a big fan of carrying around real money. ⚽️ With UEFA Euro 2024 just around the corner, this topic becomes even more relevant! Previous network technologies like 2G (GSM), 3G (UMTS), and 4G (LTE) were not designed to handle the demands of mass events. However, 5G offers several advantages, many of which may seem irrelevant to the average user. One significant benefit is the more efficient use of the spectrum, allowing a single cell to support more devices. This means more selfies per second at your favorite events! 🤳😉 If you’re deploying IoT devices at events and festivals, make sure they and your SIM cards support 5G or LTE-M to avoid connectivity issues. Enjoy the upcoming events and stay connected! 🎉 Follow me for more insights on how cutting-edge technology can transform your digitalisation.

I don't trust AI – that's what almost 70% of people in Germany think. The #AI answer engine Perplexity could change that. We are now running a campaign with Perplexity as part of Magenta Moments – the benefits programme for our customers. "Moby-Dick is about the friendship between a man and a dolphin." While this statement is clearly untrue, it is an example of the potential risks of 'hallucination'. The phenomenon that describes how #GenAI sometimes tends to present invented facts as truth. A false statement about this novel might be a convincing answer for people who have never heard of the book. Perplexity addresses this problem. How does it do this? 🐋 1. Source citations: Perplexity always includes original web links in its results. So you can check everything yourself. And make sure the sources are trustworthy. 2. Conversational search: If you are not convinced, you can challenge the bot to find better sources. Perplexity lets you chat with the results. This is made possible by the inclusion of state-of-the-art large language models such as GPT-4 or Claude. 3. Personalisation: By remembering your searches, Perplexity becomes more familiar with what you are looking for. While still giving you a broader perspective. Including photos or videos. This concept has been very successful. Within a year, Perplexity had two million monthly active users! Today, Perplexity's approach has resonated with users around the world. 10 million people rely on its conversational search capabilities. And many of our long-term customers could be among them – because Deutsche Telekom is partnering with the AI start-up to bring a one-year premium subscription of this AI to Magenta Moments. And with it: AI-powered information interpretation based on current and relevant material. I am convinced: Perplexity is a powerful response engine. Have you tried it? 🙏 Thank you for this great partnership: Aravind Srinivas Ryan Foutty Tim Höttges Jonathan Abrahamson Christin Zörner Ann-Katrin Reuter David Schroeder Johannes Deubener Rickard Damm Thomas Weiler Jose Perdomo Lorenzo Arnab Goswami Kanwardeep Singh Ahluwalia (K.D) Jan Hofmann Alexander Helmke Kristina Wunderer Marco Benninghaus York Lohse, Joshua Müller

Mobile operators and GSMA unveil a pioneering Mobile Industry Manifesto for Europe: "New Rules for a New Era: Connecting Europe to 2030." A must-read for the future of our sector in Europe: 👉 Connectivity is the backbone of a competitive digital and green economy. It is the lifeblood of technologies, such as AI and big data, cloud, quantum computing, and the metaverse. The mobile sector’s importance as a strategic asset for Europe’s resilience should be recognized, and its value should be enhanced. 👉 Europe is lagging behind other global players. Excessive market fragmentation, spectrum costs, and an outdated regulatory framework have caused the telecom sector’s revenues to decrease. A paradigm shift is urgently needed. 👉 With over 100 operators present in the EU, European telcos have an average customer base of approximately 5 million subscribers each. By comparison, operators in China and the U.S. have 450 million and 110 million subscribers per company, respectively. 👉 A more pro-investment approach to EU spectrum policy can be an essential driver of Europe’s connectivity goals. 👉 There is a regulatory imbalance in the digital ecosystem between the largest tech companies and the telecom operators that needs to be addressed so that all market players benefiting from the digital transformation assume their social responsibilities and make a fair and proportionate contribution to the costs of infrastructures, for the benefit of all Europeans. https://lnkd.in/dVmJJfhn

🚄 Deutsche Bahn (DB), Ericsson, O2 Telefónica, and Vantage Towers have reached an important milestone in their "Gigabit Innovation Track" (GINT) project. Launched in May 2023 and funded by the Federal Ministry for Digital and Transport with around 6.4 million euros, this project aims to establish gigabit mobile and data connections on trains using 5G technology. 🔹 Key Highlights: Will enable rail passengers to communicate, work, or relax with high-speed internet, similar to home. Future data rates of up to 5 gigabits per second per train are projected. Vantage Towers has developed special radio masts that can be produced cost-effectively and pre-assembled, significantly speeding up deployment. Collaboration with Regio Infra Nordost (RIN), local authorities, and the BMDV enabled the commissioning of a 12 km test track in just eight months. The new masts are anchored in the ground, saving concrete and reducing CO2 emissions. Standing at around 15 meters high, they blend into the landscape and often don't require lengthy authorization procedures. This collaboration demonstrates the potential of innovative technology and strategic partnerships in improving rail travel, bringing high-speed internet on trains closer to reality. Congratulations to everyone involved in the GINT project! What technological advancements do you think will have the biggest impact on improving our daily commutes in the next decade? Last week, my dear colleagues Susanne Adler and Marija Dejanova, posed an intriguing question: “Rolf, with #WorldBookDay approaching, have you considered sharing which book has left a deep impression on your life and nurtured your #Growthmindset?” Reflecting on their question, I realized that not just one, but at least three books have influenced my mindset and are absolutely worth sharing: Ian Kershaw – "To Hell and Back", a Christmas gift from my daughter, gripped me from the moment I opened it— it details the origins of the First World War, the horrific unfolding of events, and the suffering it inflicted across Western and Eastern Europe. It explores how the war's end, coupled with the Russian Communist Revolution and damaged German national pride, paved the way for the rise of the Nazis and even more catastrophic Second World War. What relation does this have to a "growth mindset"? None whatsoever. Instead, it showcases the dangers of a "closed mindset" - dogmatism, pettiness, egoism, fear, and a refusal to compromise. It serves as a poignant reminder and a call to action for anyone following today’s headlines. Walter Isaacson – “Steve Jobs”, more than just a biography, this book serves as a bible of management do's and don'ts as seen through the life of Steve Jobs. It reveals Jobs' flaws and missteps while illuminating how he emerged as one of the most, if not the most, successful leaders in business history. His leadership, often seen as embodying a "growth mindset," truly reflects a visionary's foresight, anticipating and even inventing future consumer needs. Even though I read the book more than eight years ago, I vividly remember each chapter, including his "reality distortion" attitude. Kazuo Ishiguro – “Klara and the Sun”: Currently on my bedside table, this novel begins with a slow burn but quickly builds into a compelling narrative. Told through the eyes of Klara, an Artificial Friend, designed to accompany children, the story explores her life with a terminally ill child whom she is meant to eventually replace. This narrative delves into the potential futures of AI and imagines how machines might one day embody a "growth mindset." Together, these three books offer a profound exploration of human history, the complexities of our nature, and the brilliance of our innovations. They paint a picture of a future where humanity may coexist with machines—not just as forms of AI, but as integral, artificial companions in our daily lives. Let me turn the question back to Susanne Adler, Marija Dejanova & other colleagues: Which book has left an indelible mark on your growth journey? Don't forget, we're also running a World Book Day challenge for all Deutsche Telekom Global Carrier and International Network & Service Unit employees, with a chance to win a special book bundle tailored to cultivate a growth mindset! Click here https://lnkd.in/eNB547DQ (internal link) to join our Book Challenge!

"Going to Gemba” ("Gehe an den Ort des Geschehens") is one of the most relevant principles for relentless improvement. For me it is also became essential part of my work routines - especially back again after the pandemic. Only if we meet and connect with real people, with real discussions and in real offices, we can get the full picture. With "Magenta Office" a new possibility to work abroad in the EU is available in DT since 2023. And this year, I decided to combine a wonderful trip to Valencia with working in the Offices of VTI abroad (DT IT Spain, powered by T-Systems). A special THANK YOU to my colleagues Sergei Holmeckis and Kirill Chernin who opened some doors and connected me to people on-site! Some thoughts I'd like to share, also on our way to New Work and Magenta Offices: - 💓Magenta “has many colors”, but you can always feel when you are entering a “Magenta Office” – equipment works, easy to connect on topics, openness of colleagues, cross-functional mindset ... - 🌍A shift of location brings a perspective - new ideas, new inspiration and energy to go on - 🦸🏻♀️Local roles, people who take care on-site, are needed! These colleagues act cross-functional, have their ears an eyes on the pulse, have the best interest of employees at heart. But we need to LISTEN what is needed locally! - 📝Some creativity and small ideas make a difference – be it individual naming for conference rooms, small meeting areas, local communities – and these ideas do not necessarily cost a lot of money! - „👋Connecting People“ is important – especially in times of transformation and Change #NewWork #NewWorkatVTI #transformationstartswithme #BestTeamintheIndustry Jan Meyer
