Welcome to Fandom Compass!

Search engines are spinning their figurative needles, trying to offer the best results to search queries. Fandom Compass is a program dedicated to guiding those search engines toward the most authoritative source: the wiki communities you pour your passion into. The wikis below are committed to following a set list of requirements to ensure that Google and other search engines put the answers their wikis hold in front of the fans that need them the most.

Benefits[]

Wikis that participate in the program, or Compass Communities, will receive the following benefits to help them in their pursuit of better search rankings:

  • Wiki logo shown here on the Compass page
  • Fandom-designed Compass badge in both light and dark theme to place on the wiki's main page, social media, or wherever it fits best
  • In-depth SEO audits from Fandom's SEO team and ongoing Q&A sessions
  • Monthly data report, verified by Fandom's Analytics team

How to Join[]

A wiki must meet the following list of requirements to participate in the Fandom Compass program and become a Compass Community:

  • Minimum 500 pages
  • At least 75% of links to Fandom wikis (either own wiki or other wikis) rather than outside sources
  • 0 broken links in topnav
  • Less than 100 broken/red links on wiki
  • No articles or blog posts under 300 words of meaningful content
  • No redirect chains
  • Openness to participating in SEO experiments (as needed; these will be communicated to the admin team)

Note: Wikis that do not meet all of the above requirements may still apply to join Compass. In the application below, please explain why one or more of the requirements cannot be met.

Please choose a Compass spokesperson from the admin team. The spokesperson should fill our this application (Google Forms), and a Community Manager will respond.
