This sounds like a Chrome bug that was fixed in the latest versions of Chrome. Visit chrome://extensions and then try toggling Privacy Badger off and then back on. If that doesn't help, uninstalling and then reinstalling should do it. To get help in the future, email extension-devs@eff.org

Badger replaced by Spotify widget when streaming from a third party link. How do I disable that feature?

Hello EFF, Just noticed at least your last two versions will not allow to update the extension, which is now stuck on 2024.5.17 for certain Chrome browser versions. The Chrome webstore gives the message "This item is not compatible with your current Chrome version". On a cursory glance, it seems it's because you set the minimum version requirement to exclude Chrome version 109.0.5414.168 and older. Hello and thanks for the kind words! Google is requiring all extensions to update to Google's new framework for extensions called Manifest V3. This is why we set the minimum required version of Chrome to what we did. Earlier versions of Chrome do not properly support required MV3 functionality. I've been using it for years. Sometimes I have to disable it on websites with forms as it seems to get disconnected and error out. Other than that, it quietly blocks excessive trackers from gathering data just because they latched on to your data somehow. I use it with uBlock Origin as well, they work great together.

Doesn't block YT ads.

Privacy Badger is a privacy tool, not an ad blocker. Its aim is not to block ads, but to prevent non-consensual invasions of privacy. If you really dislike ads, install a traditional ad blocker instead of, or in addition to Privacy Badger.

It is what it says and it works as they say!

Easy tool to block trackers, you just install and forget, nothing to configure!
