I’m a senior editor at Automattic. I currently work on a small team that runs two award-winning longform publications, Longreads and The Atavist Magazine.
At Longreads, I read and recommend the best longform nonfiction on the web. I also commission and edit personal narratives, reported essays, and occasionally more in-depth features from writers and illustrators around the world, some of whom have won a Pushcart Prize and a National Magazine Award, or been notably mentioned in Best American Essays. Alongside my role at Longreads, for over a decade I’ve worked as a story wrangler across Automattic. I’ve worked on many projects over the years: finding and telling customer stories, developing writing and photography courses, managing company blogs and social channels, and crafting copy for our products and apps, including WordPress.com.
I was born and raised on the San Francisco Peninsula. I’ve traveled widely—more frequently in the Before Times—often with a camera in hand. My husband, young daughter, and I currently live in the East Bay.
I’m interested in tiny things, plants, the ’90s, old jungle mixtapes, and the perfect blend of tech house. And, as those who know me can attest, I’m not to be fed after midnight.
