Position Summary:
The Wesleyan Department of Astronomy seeks to hire one Undergraduate Course Assistants to support ASTR210 for the 2024 Fall Semester.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Any undergraduate Astronomy majors can serve as Course Assistants (CA) for the introductory general education courses offered by the Department. The duties of a CA, which are similar to those of a graduate Teaching Assistant, can include: leading help/discussion sessions, holding office hours, assisting with or running observing sessions, objective grading tasks, and assisting with classroom instruction.
General Qualifications:
Must have knowledge of the fundamentals of astronomy. Must have successfully completed ASTR1555.
Schedule and Availability:
Hours vary, Course Assistants work an average of 4-8 hours per week during the Semester, September 2, 2024 to Dec 15, 2024. This is subject to change. Some classroom time should be expected, course is held 2nd Qtr T/R 1:20PM-2:40PM.
