Renbrook Plus Programs Lead Teacher/Assistant Teacher/Activity Specialist (based on experience)

As a member of the Renbrook Plus Programs team, you will supervise groups of students, daily, outside of typical school hours, while contributing to the development and implementation of all program components and activities related to child-centric, exploration-based Renbrook Plus Programs, including Early Birds, Extended Day, Afternoon Adventure, and Vacation Adventure. You will guide the social development of students, ensuring a safe, enriching, and healthy learning environment, as you educate, engage, and supervise students in your care.
In service to the Renbrook community, you will support and extend the School’s mission, vision, values, and goals to all aspects of Renbrook Plus Programs, and ensure that all programming meets the highest standards of excellence, in line with all complementary Renbrook programs and offerings.
In this role, you will:
- Ensure the safety and engagement of students in your care, as you manage a classroom outside of typical school hours and during vacation weeks.
- Draw upon your own unique interests, ideas, and hobbies as you create, plan, implement, and participate in purposeful, engaging and developmentally appropriate programming that meets the physical, social, emotional, and intellectual needs of each individual student.
- Adeptly manage groups, solve problems, and resolve conflicts.
- Serve as a role model and demonstrate professional behavior.
It will be essential that you:
- Exhibit an interest in and passion for working with children of varying ages (PS-Grade 4) and interests, along with the ability to adapt to changing circumstances.
- Maintain an understanding of and appreciation for the academic and social development of students.
- Possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written, and the ability to effectively communicate with various constituents, including students, parents, faculty, and colleagues.
- Facilitate a welcoming environment that invites exploration and promotes positive play.
- Employ and promote a team-first mentality in all areas, including supervision, communication, and interaction with others.
- Develop a deep knowledge of and appreciation for Renbrook Plus Programs, including their purpose, goals, policies, and standards.
- Uphold professional and respectful working relationships with colleagues.
It’s a bonus if you:
- Hold a bachelor’s degree or have equivalent professional experience working with children, and/or training in elementary or early childhood education.
- Have previously created interactive, educational, or artistic activities or programs for children.
