Assistant Program Director-In School Programs
SALARY: $20.45- $22.45/hour (full-time, hourly)
SCHEDULE: Generally, Mon-Fri 8am-4pm, some later evenings or weekend hours with advance notice, schedule subject to change
Girls Inc. of the Valley is seeking an Assistant Program Director-In School Programs who is passionate about inspiring all girls* to be strong, smart, and bold! POSITION DESCRIPTION:
The Assistant Program Director-In School Programs will collaborate closely with the Senior Director of School Year Programs to coordinate and deliver Girls Inc. programs during the school day, school vacations, and summer breaks. This role involves leading in-school program coordination and facilitation, supporting day-to-day program operations, and providing leadership. Additionally, the Assistant Director will manage communications with schools and assist the Senior Director in building new school partnerships. The Assistant Director will supervise 1-2 part-time in-school facilitators, as well as interns and volunteers.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Demonstrated commitment to Girls Inc.’s mission, vision and advocacy statements
• Bachelor’s degree, working towards a degree, or strong relevant, professional experience in education, human services or related field
• Computer literacy including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.); Google Suite (Docs, Sheets, Slides, etc.)
• Demonstrated leadership experience in team settings
• An awareness of and commitment to social justice education, gender equity, reproductive justice, trans justice and anti-racism
• Ability to communicate effectively orally, visually, in writing and online with youth, families, volunteers and staff
• Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
• Ability to maintain confidentiality in all aspects of the job
• Ability to diffuse and manage stressful situations
• Must have a valid driver’s license for at least two years with a clean driving record. Position requires ability to drive program vans
• First Aid and CPR certified, or willing to attend training
• Must be Covid vaccinated and boosted, or willing to get vaccinated before employment
• Bi-lingual (Spanish) highly desired (bonus available)
