Today, we announced a share buyback program as part of our commitment to increase returns to shareholders. Gerard Bond, President and CEO said "With the balance sheet further strengthened following the recent completion of the Didipio IPO and Blackwater sale, the initiation of a share buyback program is consistent with our capital allocation framework. With the Free Cash Flow we expect to deliver in the coming years and today's strong metal prices, the Company is well positioned to continue funding our attractive organic growth projects, maintain a strong balance sheet and the current dividend, and increase returns to shareholders via a buyback." Giving back to the communities in which many of our people work is part of our Purpose of mining gold for a better future. This year, our Mines Rescue Teams in New Zealand again participated in the Firefighter Sky Tower Challenge, where they raced 1,103 steps, 328 metres and 51 flights of stairs up the Auckland Sky Tower while wearing 25kg of kit to raise money for leukaemia and blood cancer research. Together the teams raised more than NZD$110,000, with the event itself raising over $1.9m in total. Congratulations to the Macraes Mines Rescue Team who placed fourth and the Waihi Mines Rescue Team who placed fifth. In addition to raising much needed funds, this event highlights the important skills of Mine Rescue Teams and the impact these people have within the communities where they work. #WaihiOperation #MacraesOperation #FirefighterSkyTowerChallenge #OceanaGold #community #MinesRescue

We were proud to host an open house for local residents at our #HaileGoldMine community office in Kershaw, South Carolina as part of the town’s Spring Festival. Nearly 300 community members came along to learn about our mining operations, understand our dedication to responsible mining practices, and participate in a day of discussion and exploration. We always value the opportunity to engage with communities that host our operations. It was a pleasure to showcase the mine’s operations and our approach to safe and responsible mining. #OceanaGold #ResponsibleMining #GoldMining #SouthCarolina #community

Reclamation and closure is an important part of the mining life cycle. It is the final legacy we leave in host communities and a critical aspect in the maintenance of our promise to be a good neighbour. In New Zealand's South Island, we are entering the final stages of rehabilitation of our Globe Progress mine. Over the past eight years, we have planted approximately 1 million seedlings across an area 2.5 times the size of Disneyland and pioneered a passive water treatment system to ensure ongoing water quality for the site's contact water. We call this the Reefton Restoration Project and are proud to feature in the June/July Reclamation & Closure issue of the Canadian Mining Journal - see p. 23.
