Following the murder of George Floyd and the rise of the Black Lives Matter movement, Black Talent Initiative (BTI) was born out of shared compassion, lived experience, and the desire to reimagine workplaces that are diverse, equitable and inclusive. Today, we are a charitable, social impact organization for Black Talent seeking career empowerment and advancement. BTI offers community, connections, and collaborations in an effort to create an environment where Black Talent belong and thrive.

He then worked for MLSE (Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment Partnership) as a Live Events Supervisor, honing his organizational skills in a dynamic environment. Now, Yoni works for the NBA across three departments (Merchandising, Marketing, and Partnerships) and is humbled to be there. Yoni will be joining the BTI to discuss his professional experiences as a Black man and the wonderful opportunities he's been blessed with throughout his career. With a strong background in political science and student organizing, Lilian leverages her lived experience as a Black queer refugee to advocate for systemic changes and solidarity in supporting marginalized communities. 🌈 👩🏿🎓 Maya Yaya is a bilingual professional with dual Master’s degrees in Public Policy and International Affairs from York University. Specializing in strategic planning and impact evaluation, Maya focuses on advancing Black communities’ prosperity. She is currently completing her PhD in neuroscience, exploring the intersection of consciousness and leadership in Black women.     🌟Announcing Aliyah Burey: A Highlight Spoken Word Poet at UNBOUNDED! 🌟 We are excited to welcome Aliyah Burey to the stage at UNBOUNDED on August 1st! Aliyah is a powerful spoken word poet from Toronto, Ontario, whose writings on social justice have led her to lead workshops for schools around the TDSB and individuals affected by the criminal justice system. She is a proud graduate of both the Remix Project recording arts program and Coalition Music. In 2019, her poetry was featured on a song with Juno Award-winning artist Rich Kidd. Aliyah has performed at prestigious events such as the SheEO Global Summit, the Economic Club of Canada, Mayor John Tory's Black History Month Reception, York University, Ryerson University, and U of T.
