Yesterday in Strasbourg, the European Landowners' Organization' put at the forefront rural concerns in the EP with a lunch reception. The 'Hunting, Biodiversity, Countryside' Intergroup is vital for fostering meaningful dialogue between MEPs and stakeholders. Together with the Forum for the Future of Agriculture, we are advocating for stronger collaboration among agri-food players to support and enhance rural communities. This partnership is essential for promoting sustainable agriculture and preserving biodiversity. ๐Thanks to everyone who attended! #ruraldevelopment #sustainableagriculture #biodiversity #europeanparliamentevent #collaboration FACE - European Federation for Hunting and Conservation

Statement on EFSA's Scientific Opinion on New Genomic Techniques The European Landowners' Organization (ELO) welcomes the recent scientific opinion delivered by the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) on New Genomic Techniques (NGTs). EFSA's thorough assessment, concluding that certain types of genetically modified plants derived from NGTs can be considered equivalent to conventional plants with no additional risks, provides the necessary scientific validation to advance regulatory discussions on the NGT file. European farmers are in urgent need of innovative tools to continue providing safe and sustainable food while maintaining their competitive edge in the global market. With other parts of the world already embracing NGTs, it is imperative that Europe follows suit to avoid falling behind. We urge the European Parliament and the Council of the EU to expedite the regulatory process and bring the proposed Regulation to completion. The sooner NGTs are made available, the better equipped our farmers will be to meet the challenges of the future. Jurgen Tack Secretary General

๐ฉ๐พ New Milestone from One of Our Projects: Incentivizing the Transition to Soil Health, Regenerative Farming Practices ๐จ๐พ ๐ Read now the Discussion Paper by SoilValues: https://lnkd.in/e4YZ3r52
**Incentivizing the Transition to Soil Health, Regenerative Farming Practices** **READ NOW:** Discussion Paper by SoilValues https://lnkd.in/e4YZ3r52 SoilValues' partner KOIS has mapped and analyzed the public and private incentives available to European farmers to enhance soil quality and adopt sustainable soil-health business models. The discussion paper details the research findings and provides recommendations for improving the effectiveness of existing incentives. It explores strategies to overcome barriers to adopting soil-health practices, emphasizing #regenerative #agriculture- a concept gaining traction among diverse stakeholders. The recommendations focus on the critical initial one-to-three-year period, which carries the most risk and uncertainty, offering the highest potential for impact and additionality. Key recommendations include: ๐จ design approaches: Prioritize farmers' needs, account for local context specifics, and integrate practice and outcome-based targets to create incentives that benefit both farmers and soil health. ๐ ๏ธTypes of Support: Combine financing, risk mitigation, and technical assistance to equip farmers with the necessary resources to tackle the challenges of transitioning in the early stages. ๐คStrategies for Scaling: Facilitate farmer aggregation and multi-stakeholder collaboration to achieve scalability. European Landowners'โ Organization reposted this
In the last few weeks there have been several important events discussing the future for Ukraine, including the Berlin Recovery Conference and a two-day peace summit in Switzerland. In addition, on June 25, the first intergovernmental conference dedicated to Ukraine's accession to the European Union was held in Luxembourg, marking the official start of the membership negotiations. On Tuesday, June 18, the Forum for the Future of Agriculture also hosted an event, co-organised with European Landowners' Organization and CEMA - European Agricultural Machinery, to discuss the tools needed to rebuild a forward-looking Ukraine agricultural sector that is more aligned with EU architecture. To a packed room, leading speakers discussed key issues during multiple panel sessions moderated by Mark Titterington. Due to the huge interest in this event, we were unable to accommodate all interested participants. However, we are delighted to announce that the video recordings of the discussions are now available for viewing. ๐ BEEhind the Stats ๐ Pollinator Power in Europe!
