Adopting these four data driven approaches can help: 1️⃣ Use analytics to ensure pitch relevance.  2️⃣ Personalise content to target specific audience needs.  3️⃣ Embrace generative AI to stay current and impactful.  4️⃣ Enhance your PR effectiveness by leveraging data and AI. Regulation or revolution? Kieron Stevenson has the TL;DR on the ACCC’s Issues Paper for you. #genai #technology #innovation

    Strategic Communications Leader

As someone invested in the future of tech, the ACCC's Issues Paper announcing a review of big tech’s expanding market power through AI grabbed my attention this week. This move could significantly impact the rollout of GenAI technologies, and here's why: 🚀 Increasing Market Power: LLMs have the potential to revolutionise user data collection and enhance digital experiences. While a review can be seen as a move against this progress, I think the ACCC’s focus on preventing these advancements from creating barriers for new competitors is crucial to maintaining a dynamic and innovative AI landscape. 🚀 Anti-Competitive Practices: Ensuring fair competition is vital. The ACCC's scrutiny on potential anti-competitive behaviours, such as self-preferencing and data access restrictions, aims to create a balanced environment where GenAI can thrive across diverse players, not just the dominant ones. 🚀 International Scrutiny: This inquiry is part of a global effort to monitor AI technologies, reflecting a shared understanding of AI’s transformative potential. Aligning regulatory practices internationally can help create a consistent and supportive framework for AI development. 🚀 Regulatory Statements: Joint statements from competition regulators in the US, EU, and UK highlight the universal nature of these concerns. A unified approach could help streamline regulations and support the smooth rollout of AI innovations worldwide. 🚀 Scope of Inquiry: The ACCC’s comprehensive approach, covering AI products, online gaming, and cloud computing, ensures that all aspects of AI’s impact are considered. This holistic view is essential for addressing potential challenges and supporting the broad application of AI technologies. This scrutiny, while necessary, should ideally foster an environment where generative AI can continue to develop and provide benefits across various sectors. It’s about striking the right balance to ensure that AI innovations are accessible and beneficial to all. Do you think this is a step in the right direction, or will more oversight just slow down the wheels of progress? #ACCC #AI #BigTech #Competition #Innovation #GenAI

Managing Director - Communications APAC @Hotwire | Experienced communications leader

Today marks a year in the job leading the team at Hotwire in Australia. So, what can I say about my experience over the last 12 months?   👍 It was the right decision. Having co-founded and led my own agency for 15 years, I was ready to dive back in and take on this role once more. It’s challenging, it’s rewarding, it’s fun and it can be stressful at times, but I’m all in. 🌏 I like working for a global - but - local agency – I love working with my team at Hotwire Australia in Sydney, supporting our clients across Australia and throughout APAC but I also get the chance to work with some fantastic colleagues in other markets like Heather Kernahan Heather Craft Laura Macdonald Anol Bhattacharya who support me in my role and give my team ‘bench support’ when we need it. 😊 Despite what can only be described as a challenging time for many businesses, the opportunities are there, and the work is really interesting, particularly when you work with innovative brands and businesses. 💡 AI is a game changer and personally I’m enjoying pushing myself outside my comfort zone, learning fast and finding ways to make the work better for my team and our clients. 👨👩👧👦 Life goes on – and when you have 2 very busy teenagers and a husband who runs his own business, planning ahead can mean checking you know if you have food in the fridge for dinner and who is picking up who from sport or music practice. Funnily enough, we don’t have anything for dinner tonight. 🤸♂️ I need to stay active and strong. I have a couple of autoimmune diseases that can make me feel like I’m dragging myself through the day but heading to the gym, working on my strength and just moving more when you are glued to a laptop some days is essential. 🥂 Here’s to the year ahead. I hope it is filled with great moments. With exciting wins for my team and wonderful results for our clients. With opportunities to learn and grow – personally and professionally. And I hope my daughter finally gets her license and I don’t have to get up at 430am and drive her to swimming anymore. It’s the little things. And the big things, that make it all worthwhile. 🚗 #oneyearin #teamwork #growth

Yesterday, we lit the torch for Hotwire's FY25 Kickoff Week! 🏃♂️🔥 This week marks the beginning of our new fiscal year, and we celebrate by being together IRL and across our global offices, passing the torch from APAC to Europe and the US, to jointly celebrate the highlights of the past year and aim for the gold in the opportunities ahead. This time around we were inspired by the Olympics, emphasising the values of preparation, dedication, and teamwork. We jumped into the week with insightful updates from our leadership team and an inspiring keynote session with Simone Barlaam, a multi-medal decorated Paralympic swimmer, which included gems including: 🥇 "The only thing you can control is our performance." 🥇 "The result is part of the process. It comes down to how you prepare every day." 🥇 "You have to be ready to lose - but not willing to lose." These were only a small handful of Simone's quotes that we loved! Inspired by Simone, but not brave enough to dive into the water in winter 🥶 we headed out on the harbour on solar powered boats for some cheese and chats. Here's to an amazing year ahead, working together as #OneTeam #FY25kickoff #teamwork #olympics #Inspiration #technology #innovation

Balancing work and motherhood is always a challenge, but school holidays take it to a whole new level! 🤹🏾♀️ As a mum, I know firsthand the juggle of keeping kids entertained, managing work responsibilities, and trying to find a moment for myself and my husband. It’s a delicate dance of scheduling playdates, school holiday camps, Zoom/Teams meetings, and family time. Here are a few things I do that help me navigate this busy season: ⏰ Thoughtful Working. We have our anchor days, where I’m in the office connecting and collaborating. But I’m lucky to work for an organisation that believes in thoughtful working. So, I adjust my work hours to fit around my kid’s schedules. Also allows me to do drop-offs and pick-ups from activities without feeling guilty and complete my work when I can give it my 100%. 🎨🍿 Activities and Snacks. I set up ‘tivities’ as my youngest calls them for when I have a call or work to get through. Including copious snacks - they still appear on calls (usually asking for a Tim Tam) but I’ve got the best bunch of colleagues that laugh it off and engage with them. 🤝 It takes a village. Our kids had playdates with friends and cousins which we return in kind and my wonderful cousin took our son for an adventure afternoon (thanks Kuhan Rajalingam). My husband and I divide responsibilities as much as we can, drop offs, pick ups, packing lunches, making dinners etc... our synced calendars help! Sharing the load can make a world of difference. 💫 Embrace Imperfection. It’s okay if everything isn’t perfect. This one is particularly difficult when things pile up but I’ve realised the washing can wait.  ❤️ Family. We prioritise some special time together as a family. Getting away for the weekend, having special dinners out and just embracing the slower pace holidays bring. To all the working parents out there, you’re doing an incredible job. Do you have any tips and tricks? I’ve got a whole lot of holidays ahead of me! 😬 #WorkingMum #SchoolHolidays #WorkLifeBalance #MumJuggle

Combining human expertise and AI to help your brand connect with the right audience and manage its reputation.

We create more information every two days than human civilisation produced until 2003. With 500 hours of video uploaded to YouTube every minute and over 100 million photos shared daily on Instagram, it's easy to see how we're all drowning in data. This constant deluge can lead to "Information Obesity," when we consume loads of information without retaining, learning, or using much of it. If you're worried about being mentally overloaded, I shared some ideas on how to keep the brain info fit.
