🎓Study site visit - First LEXO® pediatric research Last week, our Research Coordinator, Iris Jakob, and our Area Sales Manager, Clara Silvestro, traveled to Genova to meet the research team of IRCCS Ospedale Pediatrico Giannina Gaslini. The clinic is conducting a study on robot-assisted gait rehabilitation in children with neurological disabilities - the very first one worldwide with LEXO® in children. Many studies demonstrate the benefits of robot-assisted rehabilitation in children with neurological disabilities in terms of distance traveled, walking speed, endurance, and balance. However, it is necessary to increase the number of trials to achieve greater homogeneity between protocols to define the number of sessions required, their frequency, and repeatability over time (Castelli et al. 2022). The ongoing LEXO® study aims to contribute to a further development of the current state-of-the-art procedure in robot-assisted rehabilitation in children with neurological disabilities. Imagine you are driving your car and get distracted for a moment. You wake up in hospital. That's exactly what happened to Marlon in 2018. He was in a coma, and the doctors had already given him up. A few days before life support was to be withdrawn, a nurse noticed a tiny twitch in Marlon's little finger. A miracle that gave him a second chance.   When he finally returned to the world of the living, nothing was the same. He had to relearn all his basic skills, including walking and talking. But Marlon fought his way back. Thanks to his incredible mental strength, the support of his family, competent doctors, therapists MOTIONrehab Intensive Neuro Rehab Centres and our devices, he is now able to lead a largely independent life again.   Marlon is a shining example of willpower and determination. Thanks to his tireless ambition, he has achieved incredible things over the past six years. He continues on this path as a bodybuilder, personal trainer, and perhaps, in the future, a therapist himself.   Thank you, Marlon Laight, for sharing your moving story and being a guest at our summer party.
