TAIPEI -- Thailand's industrial parks could face an increasing risk of power shortages as early next year as numerous new factories producing printed circuit boards come online, a leading industry body is warning.

Nearly 30 investments in PCBs -- on which chips and components are mounted before being assembled into final products -- were announced in Thailand between January 2023 and April this year, according to the Taiwan Printed Circuit Association.
