KYOTO, Japan -- Japanese motor supplier Nidec will deemphasize electric vehicle components in China as the core of its growth strategy while focusing on water cooling systems for data centers that use artificial intelligence semiconductors as a promising new business, Nikkei has learned.

The plan is to curb investments in fields where tough competition makes it difficult to count on profits and instead focus on a rapidly expanding market.
