Alaska State Council on the Arts
Of Note
Alaska State Council on the Arts and the Alaska Arts and Culture Foundation (AACF) have partnered to provide a resource page related to the arts and culture sector titled Of Note on the AACF website. Visit Of Note on the AACF website, or add yourself to our newsletter list to receive both our monthly ASCA Newsletter and our new Of Note communication by email!. We also encourage you to share information that you are finding useful in these times, with our Community Arts Program Director, Charlie Sears at charles.sears@alaska.gov.
Silver Hand Program
The Silver Hand program helps Alaska Native artists promote their work in the marketplace and enables consumers to identify and purchase authentic Alaska Native art. The seal indicates that the artwork on which it appears is created by hand in Alaska by an individual Alaska Native artist. Only original contemporary and traditional Alaska Native artwork, not reproductions or manufactured work, may be identified and marketed with the Silver Hand seal. The Silver Hand image is protected under Alaska trademark statute and regulation and may only be used by individuals or organizations with Alaska State Council on the Arts’ explicit written permission. Click here learn more about Silver Hand program.
Please Note: Once you have assembled your materials, please send by email, mail, or you can deliver them to our office by appointment.
Every two years, the Alaska State Council on the Arts and the Alaska Humanities Forum solicit nominations for this honorary position that is critical not only to the citizens of Alaska, but also to the field of writers and readers throughout our state and nationwide.
