Roads, also known as streets or avenues, appear in all Arkham Games. In the first three they serve no purpose other than to add realism, and are usually loaded with criminals. However in Batman: Arkham Knight cars actually drive on them, and the Batman can drive the Batmobile on them. Developers admit that streets were made wider to accommodate the Batmobile. Criminals again appear on the streets, sometimes creating riots often consisting of dozens of NPCs.
