Batman: Arkham Knight/Game Over Lines

The following is a list of Game Over lines in Batman: Arkham Knight.

Scarecrow

• "Prepare yourself, Batman. My reign of terror starts now." (If Batman fails to stop the driver on Bleake Island)
• ( Unused ) I'm sorry Batman didn't mean to frighten you. 
• ( Unused ) And so ends the nightmare.
• "Didn't you know, Dark Knight? You can't fight fear."

• "Die, knowing that I will make them suffer- every one."
• "You have failed to stop me, Batman. Now Gotham will fall."

• ( Unused ) To bad Batman the nightmare was just beginning.

Trivia

• Joker’s game over line: “Bats? Bats? BATS!!!” is a reference to Metal Gear.
• If the player fails a mission in the game that is important, instead of the screen saying “Mission Failed” like the rest of the Arkham games, it will show the loading screen with hints located at the top right corner of the screen as the game reloads the last checkpoint.

Causes of Special Game Over Lines

• After surrendering to Scarecrow, If Batman loses the fight against the hallucinations of Joker, the “Downside, your dead, but the upside, we got each other Bruce. Forever” or this is the end Bruce and now we're going to be together FOREVER!!!! and the “This is how it happened. This, is how to Batman died” game over lines will occur by the Joker.
• If Batman loses the signal of Gordon’s car while trying to protect him, the Militia will capture him and bring him to the Arkham Knight, thus triggering the game over line “Well. That’s one less Gordon to worry about. At least now you won’t have to tell him the truth about Babs” by the Joker.
• If Batman loses while trying to shut down a checkpoint, the “That’s what happens when you take on my men. You lose” game over line by the Arkham Knight will occur.
• If Batman loses while trying to destroy a watchtower, the “I own the sky now” game over line by Arkham Knight will occur.
• If Batman leaves Ivy’s plant to be destroyed, either The Arkham Knight’s game over line: “Ivy should’ve known better than to count on you” or Ivy’s game over line: “They destroyed my plant, Batman. I can’t stop them now” will occur.
• If Batman loses Penguin’s men while trying to locate Penguin (side mission not included), Joker’s game over line: “There goes your only lead to finding Barbara. Well it was fun while it lasted” will occur.
• If Batman fails to Duel Team Takedown Penguin after he has taken Nightwing hostage in the final part of the side mission “Gunrunner”, he will shoot Nightwing in the head, thus triggering a normal death scene as it’s like the player is playing as Nightwing and die while trying to destroy a weapons cache.
• If Catwoman chooses the wrong key while trying to unlock her explosive collar in the orphanage, the collar prepares to explode with Riddler complementing in the background as the collar explodes off-screen as it would may have depicted blood and some decapitation. There is no death scene but will take the the player to the loading screen instead.
