Green Acres is an American sitcom starring Eddie Albert and Eva Gabor as a couple who move from New York City to a country farm. Produced by Filmways as a sister show to Petticoat Junction, the series was first broadcast on CBS, from September 15, 1965, to April 27, 1971.
Green Acres is about Oliver Wendell Douglas (Eddie Albert), an erudite New York City attorney, acting on his dream to be a farmer, and Lisa Douglas (Eva Gabor), his glamorous Hungarian wife, who is dragged unwillingly from an upscale Manhattan penthouse apartment and the city life she adores to a ramshackle farm. The theme tune, as with those of the show's rural cousins, explains the basic premise of the show. At the end of the opening sequence, Albert and Gabor strike a pose in parody of Grant Wood's 1930 painting American Gothic. The debut episode is a mockumentary about their decision to move to a rural area, anchored by former ABC newscaster John Charles Daly. Daly was the host of the CBS game show What's My Line, and a few weeks after the show's debut Albert and Gabor returned the favor by appearing on What's My Line as that episode's Mystery Guests, and publicly thanked Daly for helping to launch their series.

Green Acres is one of the best shows of all times, period.
It's full of stupid people who are stupid in different ways - the stupid big city lawyer, the stupid glamorous wife, the stupid farmer and his stupid wife, the stupid farm hand, the stupid county agent, the stupid handymen, - all uniquely stupid in their own way,
About the only one who isn't stupid is the pig.
Green Acres swirls in a psychedelic kaleidoscope with just faint, occasional, brief connections to reality; and spirals into more and more absurdity that requires LSD to understand.
There is no vulgarity and the show seems to deflate cynicism with a smile, even as things go from bad to worse.
Green Acres shows people in horrible circumstances getting by just fine, using weirdness to make problems go away in this surreal paradise.
Green Acres teaches us hope and happiness are there for the hopeless and hapless.

Green Acres can be such a delightfully absurd sitcom with a vibe all its own. Its kooky characters and cartoony style are pure fun, like nothing else from that era. However, these uploads have few episodes that are complete DVD versions (which run about 25 minutes each)-- the majority of episodes here are washed out TV Land prints that are about 21 minutes. I appreciate the upload but really wanted the "Complete" complete series.

Green Acres is arguably one of the best comedies on TV, hands down. I used to watch this show in syndication when I was a kid and the show is just as funny now as it was when I first watched it.Here, for the first time, is the complete series, in its entirety! For anyone that's always wanted to know what comedy is, watch Green Acres!
